[SPOILERS] Little Boy Cries In The Basement

T87 - Impulses

This is what has me worried.

Few turns ago I changed most of my cities mid-build to building workers. We didn't have enough to support our growth now that we had all this happiness to spare, I decided it needed to be fixed right then and there.
Now I will do the same with our military. Started building War Chariots this turn which changed to Knights when I got HBR.
I'll keep building military until I can match his power. There's no reason not to, it's the main thing that can fuck me over in this game (see: the PBEM you won REM)

Btw pickle has been putting all his EP's on me for a long time now, so if he's building a stack I guarantee you it's to be used against me.
If people played more mafia maybe they wouldn't telegraph their intentions so openly :P

Consider this Test Number 1. That should be a really good deal to him. If he's not hiding a stack, then he will accept and I can also send units to keep an eye on him.
If he doesn't accept, then we should assume the worst.

Test Number 2 comes next turn, if he hasn't accepted OB. I will declare war on him, and offer peace right away.
If he doesn't accept, then I know the attack is coming before the grace period for war would be over and I need to put 100% of my effort into defending.

I definitely made an error with those rices. Probably should have put 4 out...

I think Sian controls it right now.

Yeah everyone should have had rice. Anyway it's a minor enough thing that it shouldn't matter, not like we were missing a food resource in the capital.

Actually looking at it more I would have put them on the NS of the marble to encourage fighting over them...

Nice plans - if he does take the 15gpt deal, would that cost you money or still net you commerce?

I might break even? Really dunno, I wasn't thinking of that when making the deal. I did consider offering a higher GPT, but I figured that if he does accept I would like it to be a sum that would be sustainable going into the future.

He accepted the deal. That's a good sign.

He revolted back to slavery on his last GA turn. That's a bad sign.

Alertness status: Middling. The attack might not be immediate. I will continue with the military builds until I catch up.
Will keep an eye on pickle's score (CivStats would be nice here for the whip stats).
I do think that he will go to war, question is when and against who. My goal should be to make Sian the more attractive target.

The OB only gave me trade routes with pickle in 3 cities, so I don't think I benefit financially from that trade.

T89 - Into the Depths

He has knights and maces, but I haven't located any resemblance of a stack yet.

Updated power graph after ending the turn looks promising.
Pickle's score didn't drop between turns, so we also know he didn't go heavy on the whip.

T91 - Roulette

Got Engineering. With extra movement and pikes, we shouldn't have any trouble defending ourselves.
Refer back to the previous statement when someone conquers me.

Some more pickle units, I guess he is going to upgrade the weaker two-movers to knights.

It's time to show off our skills Rolldice
When I ended the turn, we got a.. Great Engineer!

I debated whether building Notre Dame is worth it or not, cause we are floating some excess happiness right now. I did start building it, I'm still not sure if it's right though.
Now I have to decide whether to burn the Engineer on it (or some other wonder) or save it for the next GA.

Likewise we're going wonder hunting in the capital. I figured it's well worth the hammers in a bureaucracy+representation capital, even without a production bonus from marble.

Speaking of which, Greenline has taken the marble from Sian. It's still unimproved.
Greenline also momentarily took gems from me, improved them, then I started working an artist again and took them back lol
I have been gifting him free gems for a while though.

Where's the most border tension?

T93 - Disappointing Banks

TIL the bank production bonus for financial is a RtR thing.

I rushed it. I have a lot of things to build so even though I doubt I was racing anyone, I think it was worth it to grab all those free instant hammers. Maybe.

Culturally? Militarily? Well in both cases, about the same on every border. We're fighting for tiles and those are the areas where any attacks would come.
There is one place where I don't think there is tension yet but will be in the future. The in-land ocean.

T94 - Health Up!

1-turn teched Calendar just for the bananas. Health cap is lower than happy cap, so working on that. Building a few Aqueducts too.

We're within 10k of top Soldiers count so we're back to focusing on economy. However plan is to have a few cities focused 100% on pumping out military once the essential buildings are out of the way. Bumbo and Mom's Knife will be ones, maybe Daddy Longlegs as well.
Greenline completed the University of Sankore which means he's probably had Paper for a while. I could have too, but took detours. Liberalism race might be a loss?

T95 - Library spawn, sweet!

Oh yea! We got it. Brimstone is still on growth mode, but it'll be quite formidable once running max scientists!
In other news.. Not much. It freaking hurts to see all the free religion spreads others get with their shrines. Ours did diddly-squat this game.
