You know, I think I'll use that extra GE for Three Gorges Dam. Its that or bulb. Bulb is probably better.

So I've teched Fission up to a few beakers. Nospace gets Industrialism next turn in theory, so I'll tech the second half of that. Depending on where they go next I'll park beakers in Satellites or just go for Plastics. I think the GE should go for Three Gorges Damn in Brazil.

Well I got a Great Spy . The silver lining is at least it wasn't a third GE so I can do a Golden Age for sure. The bad news of course is my next Great Person will be a Great Artist, which was meant for the Golden Age. I think nospace has enough Great Scientists queued up that he might be able to catch me in tech.
I'm up to 2750 bpt now.

Quote:novice: wanna trade hits for musicals?
Darrell: aren't I already getting hits?
novice: yes, for dyes
Darrell: so what do you want for dyes then?
novice: nothing?
Darrell: hmm
that doesnt seem advantageous to me
novice: well we could cancel the hits for dyes trade
Darrell: I know, but dyes are probably pretty good for you
given half cost theaters
novice: I don't have any theatres
Darrell: well, they are still equivalent then to hit singles
novice: no, coz we have broadcast towers
Darrell: give me one second
novice: sure
Darrell: hmm
you don't really have any excess resources
I mean you have fur which is pretty much obsolete already
novice: in case it wasn't clear my suggestion was to renegotiate the musicals for dyes deal into a musicals for singles deal
Darrell: It was clear
I'm just trying to figure out why I should help you out in that manner for nothing in return
hmm
what kind of Great People do you have, maybe we can do a package swap
novice: that's free info
Darrell: yeah
I guess so
novice: I'll tell you if you do the musicals for singles deal
Darrell: we can agree to share both
hmm, that seems like putting the cart before the horse
novice: as for why you'd do it - I'm not sure but I suspect you need the happy trades more than us?
Darrell: well I have higher pop that's true, but I'm not really sure I need the happy more
it goes to specialists for both of us after all
I've used up all my tiles
how many unhappy can you really have?
did you build the twoer when I wasn't looking?
novice: apparently?
a long time ago
Darrell: <checks>
okay you aren't going for culture it seems
novice: never even considered it
Darrell: Hmm
I'm at a loss. Everythign I think to suggest I doubt you'll be interested in.
Looking at it now I'd lose 4 scientists and an artist if you canceled the deal, which I could get back pretty quickly if I wanted to cash rush some happy buildings
Let's see you got a GS in 1420, 1520, 1540, and 1560, plus a free GS and GP from rego,
Oh and 1380
Christ
novice: you sure do a lot of haggling for someone who has lost interest in the game
Darrell: Well it woudl suck to play it out and lose
I'm already handicapped by not cared :P
caring
1280 too
1160. Man that is what 7 GSs you've popped in the last 40ish turns
Plus two freebies
You must be really wanting a non-GS for your third GA
novice: two freebies?
Darrell: rego gave you a GP and a GS
novice: ah yes
we paid for them though
Darrell: well
novice: anyway, there are some mistakes in your analysis but I'll let you find them yourself
Darrell: let's just say it wasn't fair value really
interesting you haven't fired a GA yet, so you have two in queue
novice: anyway, never mind about the singles then, no hard feelings. Just trying to get something for nothing
it's not like we lack happy buildings
Darrell: yeah, no hard feelings
THe more I look at your GS production the more I wonder if I even have a shot
You have two GAs and what must be 4-5 bulbs on ice.
if you can get a non-GS and win the Fusion race you could have three GAs
novice: I see you founded on aluminum as well
Darrell: indeed
you have industrialism?
it showed up as "can research" for some reason
novice: I do now
Darrell: oh
duh
coat tail riding bastard
novice: hehe
stop trying to shake me!
Darrell: THere are limits to what I can do unfortunately
At some point I pretty much had to tech it, or wast commerce which is even worse
novice: yeah I also have problems with too much commerce
Darrell: lol
What's your beaker count up to?
(its not going to change my strategy at all)
(and I'll tell you, I am at 27xx)
novice: is that at max science?
or breakeven
Darrell: well 90%
which is break evenish
not quite
I think break even is about 84% for me
novice: we're at 23xx
Darrell: hmm
so lets see thats 4xx per turn, and yo uhave about 6000 in GSs.
60/4 = 15
tight
very tight
I don't think there are 15 turns of tech left
eh
yeah there probably are
but now I really am maxed out I can't pull another beaker
and you can wait until the last second so get the discounts
ah well, got to run to work
ttyle
novice: yeah see ya
it's going to be a fun race

I have essentially given up on dodging novice, they have too many cheap techs they need to back-fill. I'm going to tech as fast and hard as I can and live with giving them the discount for now.
