Green and Education. If the ETA for Code of Laws is too long we might need to squeeze in Ancient Chants for the Monument. Don't forget to revolt to agrarianism while the Settler is on the go. We should first plantation the Incense then farm the floodplains.

I still think new city gets put on permanent bloodpet duty (at least until AC comes in), and Prespur goes Worker/Worker/Settler.

I agree with all of the above. The only news for t36 (settler due in 3) is that the clowns revolted to God King + Pacifism.

The tile with the single bloodpet got hit by a Giant Spider last turn, so darn. We lost a bloodpet of course and now I have to be careful about how I get our settler to the spot. Here's the plan from chat:

Quote: me: do you think it's on the city tile?
i do, but I dont know how to be sure
what happens if we move a unit onto the tile?

Darrell: Only way is a scout
Its safe

me: does the giant spider remain there and attack the same tile?

Darrell: No

me: so my plan is to move the unit outside our territory back in
rather than onto the city spot wthich would be risky
heal the axes this turn
next turn move the axes 1NW into the forest, then NW again, then onto the city tile
to give them cover from the spider

Darrell: Once its ijn our borders its neutralized

me: right

Darrell: So that is a good oplan

me: worker can road 1t north next turn, on the floodplain to not loose a turn

Darrell: Don't risk the worker
Ok

me: settler will move THREE tiles rather than four, since it's 2moves to get to the city tile anyways
so here's the question - what promo on the axe?
hills for awesome city defense but no spider protection other than healing?
c1 for protection and some city defense?
or forest 1 for better protection but nothing once we're in the city?

I then realized we had two promos on that unit, and promoted to C2.

Okay, I inherit a civ that lost pretty much all its bloodpets but has a second city! sunrise089 really needs to figure out how to stop losing 90% battles, it took 3 untis to kill a stinky goblin alright. Here is an overview shot (I will probably squeeze a second bloodpet in before that Worker):

As is our wont, we settled close to an opponent lol. Demographics:

So we are pretty much last in GNP and production. We're not exactly gang busters in crop yield either. At least we are #1 in military, maybe we can actually hold this aggressive city.

sunrise089 asked how this could happen; I know of at least one settled great person from a lair which is 2H and 5G. That's a huge boost at this stage. Clearly other teams have gone more vertical than we have as well, probably not stopping for that early settler. We can't build elder councils, the big Achilles heel for the Calabim, which also means no God King. Once we get CoL in and get our Governor's Manors and Aristofarms online (not to mention the Incense tile) we should pick things back up. I hope smile.

After CoL we will go Mining -> Bronze Working. Then its Writing -> HBR -> Trade -> Feudalism.

Working two unimproved tiles? Ouch.

Shit happens in early game FFH.

Better to work low yield tiles than have your capital captured by lizards/orcs/skelletons.

We think we actually got our worker pretty early. We've spent 9 worker turns on roading and improving our new city though, which left the capital underdeveloped. The specials are improved though, and since we need production to make bloodpets for a few turns we're only loosing one hammer per tile working those 1/2/0 tiles versus a grassland hill mine.

I am playing in a poker game tonight and won't be able to get to the save...can you play it? The only real decision is whether to switch to the incense tile. If it only slows the growth of the city by one turn I think its a good idea.
