[Spoilers - Flauros (sunrise089 and darrelljs)]

Some whiny chats for you guys to laugh at.

chat Wrote:sunrise089: uberfish emailed asking for a nap
Darrell: how many turns
sunrise089: unspecified
he also tells us the malakim settled 2(!) cities up on the dwarves, and the dwarves are not going to respond militarily
Darrell: what a bunch of wusses
how are we doing so poorly
we could not have two cities out if we tried
sunrise089: how did the malakim get TWO settlers?
Darrell: I know
GP event would do it
2H/turn is a lot this game
How about we NAP until t100?
sunrise089: uberifsh says he could not have done 2 settlers, but elves are slow
Darrell: yes
We'll have two by t69
t60
Not t50
sunrise089: he says the clowns have 3 cities too as he understands it
Darrell: Hmm
Well maybe we just suck
I dunno
2 Settler and Loki?
sunrise089: fine with me
reasons for NAP length?
any longer constrians us?
Darrell: we'll have vamps by then
and before then we don't want war.
not that uber will be our first target, but...
sunrise089: ok, uberfish and amlia have 1 city that shows up in trade
so they have 2 total
clowns have three total
Darrell: well fuck
sunrise089: are these guys all just running no units whatsoever?
they've got to be, or they have like unique feature starts and we have nothing
Darrell: I thought we were pretty aggressive with our Worker and Settler builds
In PBEM1 we'd have 3 cities before most teams had 2
sunrise089: right
Darrell: I say we go after the Clowns first
With vamps
and chalid
sunrise089: so do we think grossly unbalanced map, extreme luck (settler from hut?), or people literally went like warrior, settler, settler?
Darrell: the map was essentially unedited
I don't thienk the difficulty is low enogh for a hut settler
I think warrior worker settler warrior settler would not leave time to get Loki by t50
sunrise089: right
Darrell: You are not growing at all so maybe they did skip worker but then there demo is pretty good
prod and gnp
sunrise089: total builds -warrior, settler, settler, loki
Darrell: I can't think they would skip worker
sunrise089: starting warrior goes to first planted city, cap is empty
Darrell: not possible
just not possible
but if so we shoudl move in with 2 axes and 3 bloodpets
no one is that stupid
sunrise089: well we have to explain two settlers and a hero in 50t

Very interesting - do you think that Loki is just scouting, or aiming for your new city?

Also, would it be possible to switch on the detailed view for cities, so the lurkers can see how long until the city grows\bloodpet completes? Thanks!

My take is that Sedora was hoping we'd screw up, but if not he at least got free scouting. We really need to send him a note. I'm not convinced war with them is immediately inevitable even give our proximity. sunrise089 you want to handle the clown diplo?

Darrell

P.S. I don't know how to switch to detailed view duh.

I sent the following:

Quote:Serdoa,

We should talk. You proposed a peace treaty in game, but obviously that can't happen with Loki running around and as things currently sit. We would be happy to open up a dialog though. Please feel free to email back or chat darrell (CC'd) or I.

Best,

-sunrise

Two issues caused this - first, a peace treaty was proposed by the clowns in game. Second, this is either very premature or incredibly insulting and cheap. Peace treaties lock us in peace for 10t. That means Loki would be free to walk into our city and flip it without penalty (he's like a Caravel and can enter closed borders). The only way we're making peace is with some sort of ironclad no-Loki deal. Of course the alternative is to walk some axes into their land.

Darrell, in the south a lizardman threatens our roading worker. I think we have to hold off on that road, as we don't really have the troops to safely cover the worker, do we?

Takes two bloodpets to be safe, which is the same as a Settler escort in my opinion (minimum). So I say we try and find the troops smile. That lizard has been a major pest during my turns, popping in and out but never suiciding.

Oh good, in-character emails from insane clowns wink

Quote:Sunrise,

thank you for your kind message. I have to apologize, I think. I just wanted to have my own personal clown and Loki was designated for this task. But he didn't want to... well, you know, play in womens clothes, with false teeth and - stuff. He also babbled something, sounding like "Where is Buffy when you need her?". I am afraid he is plagued by severe ... visions. Anyway, Loki is now just on his way to the west, running for the sun or his life, I am not sure. But it surely was one of the two.

However, we as Balseraph could guarantee you that he wouldn't play in your cities if you want that. I mean I don't understand why you wouldn't want that, after all your citizens should well know guys acting weird, in women clothes, trying to drink their blood so that shouldn't lead to civil unrest, but whatever. Just let me know your wishes and I make sure that Loki doesn't do something unwise. You know, I am dominating him still. Speaking of that, would some of your blood-sucking guys want to be dominated? I would looove to have a real bloodsucker as my pet.

With bloody kisses,
Elsa Sarvoy

I could see us making peace and then some in character insanity costing us some cities.
