Looking for a Mapmaker

I apologise if this is not the correct thread but i was wondering if any kind soul with some spare time would be willing to construct a map for me?

The random map generator is no good because i have very specific requirements:

3 human players
?? AI (your discretion)

The three human players need to be handicapped compared to one another in some way. For scale, use something like:

Player 1 = 1.0
Player 2 = 0.75
Player 3 = 0.5

Basically, i have two friends i would like to play a PBEM with but we are all radically different in skill. I know that no map will ever be able to overcome this completely but it could definitely help. I don't really mind how you want to enact this advantage:

Perhaps player 3 has significantly more land?
Perhaps they have much nicer neighbours?
Perhaps player 1 is stuck on an island by themselves?

Or maybe you would like to ban some traits or civs? If you go with this option, let me know and i'll contact the others so we can pick. A combination of this option and one or more (all?) of the above is probably best. Please bear in mind that player 1 (i'm #2 if you were wondering) is looking to do this for fun also so i'd rather yiou buffed us other two up rather than gave them too atrocious a situation.

Settings we would like:

-Difficulty- noble at highest considering the newer player.
-Tech Trading- Off
-Barbs- Regular
-Map Size- Huge
-Script- Up to you but custom continents is nice and could fit well.

AI will obviously suck due to the difficulty but maybe you can leverage this in some way.

Any questions, please ask. I have four broken fingers at moment so gonna stop typing here as it's extremely cumbersome lol

Thank you in advance to any kind soul that may offer jive

I won't design the map for you because frankly I'm not able to design those sort of scenarios, but how did you break 4 fingers?

I think it goes without saying that the more succinct you can explain it, the better.

I'm not sure how to design a map like that either. But one thing I'll point out is that different players can play at different difficulty levels, which gives them different tech costs and maintenance costs. And that's a well-defined quantitative numeric way to do the balancing, if you're so inclined.

I talked about doing this with a friend of mine and I think that we were going to give him the deity starting units (2 settlers 3 workers etc) as a way to compensate for my "immense" skill lol

You could change the diplo modifiers too, right? Like make one guy start with -20 for all of the AIs?

What about you just play, and the weaker player could learn? smile

If you've not gotten one yet, I can throw something together for you. It won't be perfect, but you said that in the first post anyway, right? Let me know your civ/leader choices, and whether there are any other restrictions; for instance:

- Must contact between the three human civs be possible via land units and/or galleys? Must contact with all the AI civs be possible by the same means?

- Must all three players play on the same difficulty level (just with different-quality starts) or is it okay to set different difficulties, as T-Hawk suggested? (This would effect tech costs, maintenance costs, bonuses when fighting barbs, etc.)

(Also: OUCH! Four fingers?! Some kind of footballing collision?)

[EDIT: I'd also need to know the play order, assuming you'll have different preferred playing times; for instance:
1) Kyan; Tokugawa of Germany
2) Stronger Player; Charlemagne of America
3) Weaker Player; Churchill of Celtia
I presume I could switch the order to 2 - 3 - 1 or 3 - 1 - 2 of course.]

Hey! Thanks guys, car crash unfortunately. Adlain was close'ish.

I've decided to take your advice to an extent:

Player 1 (Highest Skilled Player)
-5 Diplomacy with AI
Restrictions on CIV and leader, these restrictions are imposed by players 2 & 3
These players may each select either 5 leaders or 5 civs which cannot be played or a mixture thereof.
So in total would have 10 leaders / civs banned
Inca and India also banned from use as is the financial trait.

Player 2 (Second Highest Skilled Player)
Inca and India also banned from use as is the financial trait.
Starts the game with a worker

Player 3 (Third Highest Skilled Player)
Zero bans or restrictions
Starts the game with an additional worker and settler.

Game Settings
9 Players (3 Player + 6 AI) unrestricted leaders
Map Size Huge
Difficulty Noble
Barbarians On (Regular)
Nukes Banned
War Elephants Banned
No Player Vs Player war for 50 Turns
Humans spread out, ideally having to go through an AI to get to each other
Resources Balances amongst Humans, doesn't matter with AI
Capitals all of similar qaulity for humans
Map Script: Continents of Custom Continents
Number of Continents up to mapmaker but prefer large land masses
Humans CAN start on the same continent but only if enough space.
All civs to be contactable by Galley if possible, but can be via indirect routs.

Leader Picks for Players:
Snakepick

I don't how possible this all is and im being optimistic hehe. All players on noble also. Snake pick order is 1,2,3.

I'll let you know the picks momentarily. Play order is 1, 2, 3 also. One last thing, i LOVED what Krill did with the colours in the most recent pitboss. If you could play around with this (to your liking) i would heavily approve. No problem if not wink
