If we are talking 6 - 8 players will this be a more casual game? I would think its going to probably go at a slower pace with that many people. In that case, I wouldn't mind signing up and playing this game in a more casual manner, ie, less thread updating.
Currently, I'm putting a lot more time into PBEM 14 and 6. That would be where my focus would be. I'd of course play my turns on time and actually more quickly since I would spend less time haranguing over them and writing up detailed reports. I can tell you, though, that I wouldn't be a pushover. :neenernee
I would be interested in playing a more natural map in terms of resource spread and layout. It might also be interesting to play with continents, like 2 or 3 major landmasses. Have any of the PBEMs done water maps like archipelagos? Also something fun to consider. Are we considering unrestricted leaders and civs with no bans?
So, consider this a possible sign-up depending on what other people are interested in, and whether I no one minds if I don't update my thread as much.

no worries .. if you lurked PBEM12 you'd find some took days, if not weeks, to update of course, you may lose any lurkers if you don't update with something less than once a week.

hmm ... that would be something to discuss ... it may force us to choose less-well-used civs if there's a lot of water

Heh, I hadn't even considered 6 as an archi map mostly because it has a large pangea-like center. But I guess when you start on a couple islands it is technically an Archi map.

FWIW, the RB mod is also finished if you guys want to use that. I think the change to Indias' starting techs is the only thing that needs implementing?

Yeah, that's the only change I haven't made in the version on my machine. I'll make that & post it tonight.

I would love to be able to play with the RB mod but its still only for windows version correct? I play on a mac and I believe that I need a different type of file form mods. Do you think I could possibly port the RB mod? Though I'm not sure if it would end up compatible with windows version of it. What do you think Cyneheard?

True, that'd preclude your usage of the mod unless you could run boot camp.

If the game is going to be fairly casual, I might be persuaded to sign up. Given how often I update my RBP4 thread, don't expect too much time invested in that department.
Edit: What are the opinions on a CTON-esque game? That would cut down the workload on diplomacy quite a bit.

Oooooh, that's an interesting idea. I could be persuaded to try that out. Would be interesting to play.
