Got contact with novice and Space now...Darrell, I think we need to hold this turn for a few hours (won't delay the rest from playing the save). there is a lot to discuss here, and possibly with the others.

Actually, now that we have contact and we know that they are the team that has the GLH, I say just go straight for HG. They are not going to want to limit OB, and we aren't exactly asking for an awful lot when we want to plant a city 1N of the clams.

OK, by T45, if we keep on moving the scouting warrior east, we should know due to border pops if that strip of land to our east is actually part of our continent or not. Should have henge down (hopefully...) could have a wb out for trade routes to NoSpace. Still can't dotmap the south though  Also, should be able to get Maths by eot t46 (save gold next turn).
Darrell, if you are unsure of what tech path to take, then I think saving gold this turn is the right move. That should give enough gold for the rest of any of the tech lines.

I agree we can get away with it easier now, however I think possession is 10/10s of the law in this case, and we don't want to get beat to that spot. I am fairly certain that site is located on their landmass now. They haven't seen the Gems yet but when they do, they will prioritize settling them I bet. In any case running all cash this turn does defer the decision.
Uh...they have Copper on the trading screen.

Okay, I played the turn. I put 50% tech on Sailing as I need to keep it a three turn tech. Everything else I kept on plan. I should mention that at least initially I plan to diplomatically engage teams in the manner they prefer. Both nospace and shoot wanted to limit diplo to in game contact only, while Kyan and rego wanted full diplomacy. As such I sent the following message to nospace:
