Also you should know that plako wants to be friends with us now. If you have thoughts on how we should deal with him feel free to lobby. :D

Quote:Well it does seem like a lot to ask of you to never trade with anyone else for the rest of the game (or at least the near future). Is that really something that you'd be willing to do? If not, are there any areas you'd like me to just take a screenshot of and send to you?
As for plako, well, he appears to be spending lots of espionage on us. Last turn it was in the 50s and this turn it's up to 79. Probably not running the slider, but he does appear to be spending all that courthouse EP on us. So that's annoying. At this point we're building up our army and keeping our options. An attack on plako does appear to be one of the options, though maybe it will just be defending against HIS attack....
I've heard some rumors that Nakor might be interested in an attack on plako, so I'd check with him. If we could get some forces from you, Nakor, us and Lord Parkin, we could definitely make some gains on him. I think it will have to be 3-4 on 1 to crack Vassalage powered longbows. Keep me posted on what you hear there

Quote:Hi plako,
It's been awhile since we have talked or chatted so I thought I'd drop you a note. I can't help but feel that even though we were able to agree to an acceptable border arrangement in the lands north of WarriorKnight, our relations have gotten a little strained? I did appreciate your moving your units out of our lands after we founded our border city of Buttermilk. If you'd like to revisit our agreement about units in each other's lands, we'd be open to doing that. Or if not, our impi will continue to wave to +_+ across the hills :-D
With the expiration of our short-term NAP the other day, it seems like we're at somewhat of an impasse, with both of us not knowing what to do with the other? I noticed that you spent a bunch of EPs on us this past turn. I'm sure that you have more courthouses than us, so if you continue to do so, you'll at some point get our research. Of course, you could just ask us what we're researching (it's Feudalism).
Anyways I'm not sure what to say or do. It just seems like our relationship has for some reason turned sour, so I thought I'd drop you a note to see if you felt the same way and if so, if you were interested in trying to figure out some ways to make things better
talk to you soon

Quote:OK but by same token are you planning on never trading your map with anyone for whole game either? We have already trade map with plako and luddite so you would get their maps if we exchange. If not that is fine I thought that if we traded with you last then you would get alot of info. We will probably not trade maps again for a long time after this since we have good picture of world. Anyway I dont mind its up to you what you want. I was only offering to make exchange.
I'm not sure that attacking plako is a good idea. You cant see this because you dont have Alphabet but he is not doing that well in tech. Parkin actually has most tech by alot. Parkin has 9 classical tech and 3 medieval. Plako has 8 classical tech and 1 medieval (Feudalism). It takes plako 4 turns to get Aesthetics tech. It takes Parkin 4 turns to get Paper tech. I'm sure you can see difference there! You and Nakor fighting plako would be perfect for Parkin. He just sit back and tech while everyone else fight and get further ahead. Obviously it is up to you but I'm just saying you should probably be more worried about Parkin. He has a crapload of cities to and researches really fast.
Well it is good talking wityh you as usual. :D

Quote:I will check with sunrise to see what he says about the map trade. I think that it is certainly possible that we won't trade maps for awhile if ever in this game. Like I said, we have a pretty good idea of what the map looks like, at least in most places. One thing that he was worried about is revealing the location of our coastal cities. We have a lot of those due to GLH and they could be vulnerable, especailly in the post-Astro world. But I'll check with him to see what he says.
As for the "plako vs. parkin" debate, I understand what you're saying. Of course YOU have even more tech than Parkin but yes I had figured out that plako doesn't even have IW or Calendar. I am more worried about Parkin, but geography makes it very difficult to attack him. I'm open for ideas on how we can cooperate against him.

Great, more posts of lengthy diplomatic correspondence without the courtesy of at least summarzing what transpired. More pictures of cities working jungle tiles please.

every "pot and kettle" phrase in every language comes to mind.
Though I have to agree with Darrell. Great Wall of text comes to mind.

More text! I emailed sunrise to get his take on the whole Parkin thing
Quote:Okay. Not sure if you're around today or have been reading the thread but there is an offer on the table from Lord Parkin for more of an "alliance", including things like OBs, resource trades, closer cooperation and also potential cooperation vs. plako. Details are in the thread
I'm a bit worried about plako as he is putting major EPs on us (for that matter Parkin is too though not as much). He's also moving units towards our borders (nothing threatening at this point but still some units).
On the other hand, Parkin is significantly ahead of plako in tech (he has paper while plako lacks IW and calendar). Parkin doesn't have any military tech (construction, feudalism, machinery) so I don't know what kind of military help he might be. Not that we can really afford much of a war ourselves, since what we really want to do is consolidate our land, grow our pop, and not really fight anyone..... But geographically it's much harder for us to attack him (and hold any gains). We could try some sort of galley based attack (with caravels maybe as boat defense?), but that would just harass him for no real gain on our part.
At this point, I'm leaning towards taking him up on the deal, in some part due to the fact that I'm worried that plako will start more actively harassing us now that his war with WK is done. We definitely don't need the two of THEM ganging up on us...
So whaddaya think?
And to satisfy the whiners

Now now, the new improved Darrell does an update/turn in pbem17 and nearly the same in ffh2 .
I guess a picture without words is better than words without a picture.

I'm pretty sure you're not remotely close to qualifying for "nearly the same" in the FFH game.
