Not really.

Somehow we didn't make it into Adlain's summary in the email / IT thread but I don't know where to put us anyways. I'm really fine either way.

It's interesting though that I think LP is right - this was the same sort of behavior that RB decried when PAL "quit" on us in the Apolyton demogame

Kylearan and Whosit are probably humoring him. Me, I just want to see what happens. And when's the last time you've seen tanks be obsolete in a game?

In PBEM4, until Darrell died, I had fun concentrating on our little conflict even though it was clear that we both stood no chance at winning the game. I had fun playing on because to me, it wasn't only about who would become the overall winner (I knew before starting to play I wouldn't stand a chance at that). It was about playing out interesting situations on a smaller scale.

That's also the reason why I won't complain about having to continue playing even though for me the fun is over now. I know there's still at least one conflict somewhere (Cyneheard vs. Krill) that's interesting to both parties. It's important though that *both* players find the situation interesting, not only Krill alone.

Maybe that's the difference between PBEM4 and this game - is there a situation somewhere that's fun to play out between two players, even though everybody knows who will be the overall winner? Or is it really just Parkin who wants to play on?

(But yeah, of course the amount of time needed to play one's turn is different too...)

PAL had much more of a shot to win the Apolyton demogame than any team does this game. IMO.

That's probably accurate

So is that why you quit like they did? tongue Throwing in with LP reduced the game to one conflict both parties seem interested in: Mackoti vs Luddite. Neutrality was an option if you really didn't care about the outcome.

Rowain, I don't see how this is a fight between them and Plako if they have no army^H^H^H^H an army of banks and Plako's army just sank? It's rules manipulation to help LP, plain and simple. And as far as I can tell, Plako/ASM have been less than polite, but nothing like WarlordDR. Or did I miss something?

Apologies in advance for sounding like a jerk (it's really not intended), but why do you care? Sunrise and Regoarrar aren't here to play it so it's more fun for you, they're playing for themselves. They've also invested MANY hours into this, so I'd say they're a little more qualified to make decisions about their civ than you are. Now you can debate all you want what was best for them (lurker thread is a better place for that), but acting as if they owe you something is a little crazy.

Again, I feel like I explained my feelings on this in detail a few posts back (the one that Krill replied to with the oh-so-witty "you're a retard" post).

But I've never been one to turn down some free PC lol

Back 50-75 turns ago, plako and LP were both neutral to hostile towards me. I feared that the two of them would gang up on me and take me out. Plako offered nothing, militarized our border, and spent all his EPs on me. Parkin offered a long-term alliance (including a NAP till T250).

Which one would you have worked with?
