Been thinking about this game, and fwiw, it's about reached the stage where it's fair to say that I'd be running away with the game if it were a straight NTT game, not because I've played well (I haven't) but simply because the others players have been at each others throats, which is a pretty bad reason for winning a game. I look forward to seeing if the new tech trading model will let the others reel me in...

So...yeah, no one completed the HG. Now up to 31.64% of world pop. Construction teched at 20%, +125gpt-ish due to a large amount of overflow. Dazed has Machinery for maces, and I'm going to tech HBR next turn and probably just build a bunhc of cats and HA as per usual now.

PBEM13 reference? Nice.
Thinking about the tech path for the future, I actually think that machinery makes more sense. Flanking got nerfed so it is only half as effective, which makes building HA even more pointless when I'm so close to Guilds. So I'm thinking Machinery>HBR>Guilds>Drama>Banking, HBR second simply for a few HA prebuilds to get turned into knights early, and/or to get Stables down prior to finishing knights. I'm seriously considering what I'd have to do to capture some useful land, but right now I'm not sure I can safely do anything. Still, doesn't hurt to plan.

Hagia Sophia and the AP next turn, no one has Theo so I can't lose them short of an insane GP bulb Theo and GE rush a wonder, which isn't possible because no GE have been popped IIRC. Teched Machinery in 1 turn at 80%, 505 bpt, -185gpt. Yuri doesn't have HBR and his power is leveling off so I'm considering Drama next and then onto PP for about +30 commerce/turn (not a lot, is it?) although I'd prefer to just tech Engineering, HBR, Guilds, Banking and then save gold and kill someone. It's actually really tempting to tech Astro and boat TT, then try to split Dazed from 2 directions at once...

Well, I think everyone except TT has Paper now. TT is basically just holding land that someone else is going to capture at some point. mh has a GNP that is equal to my own, but he is in a GA yet has a lot of tiles he can grow onto. yuris has Guilds but no HBR, Dazed has Engineering. Farms take me 2 worker turns, Watermills take, what, 3 turns? I'm up to 50% tech at break even, which basically means Guilds in 2 turns at positive GPT.
