Of course we'd like to delay a peace treaty for as long as possible, while not waiting until he actually has the upper hand. We'll see how that works out...

Um. Am I the only one who thinks NS7 is relying a bit too much on Mackoti agreeing to peace? Mackoti has absolutely no reason to make peace after being forced to build military, especially when he gets the upper hand. Plus, based on my past experience with him Mackoti seems like the type of guy who would get frustrated upon realizing the trickery involved and just go bash heads in.

Nope, you're not. There was mention in their thread that Seven thinks the galleons are too intimidating for opponents to want war. Mack is an overland opponent, and NS7's only navy route to the theater is a chain of forts. Mackoti has a stack of ~8 of caravels that is reducing the impact of those galleons for now. If Mackoti is intimidated, he's not showing it.

PBEM23 has come up a few times when me and Mack have been talking about PBEM25v. He's pretty much accepted an NS7 victory, to quote him in regards to this game:

"Novice is playing the music, I just try to dance."

Last time we spoke however, he said he was planning to go all out for military to try and take them down with shock knights. I don't think NS7 really comprehend what's about to hit them.

I agree with that, especially now that Seven sent an "unoffensive" peace-for-city ransom note...

I do like the free horse to Yuri. I think Yuri's a pretty honorable turnplayer, and would not attack NS7 with his own horses. if Yuri accepts there would seem to be an implicit NAP there. if he doesnt that's pretty clear too!

Edit: Yuri refused! Good on him... this game is becoming more entertaining every day.

I don't think this game is especially interesting - I think mack checked out to some extent around NS7 landing mids/Astro, though he was never fully checked in, I think because he felt like he made some mistakes in the early game. The other players are either leagues below them in skill (Yuris, Sian - no offense guys, I'm leagues below them in skill too) or just not listening to the music (luddicator.) Fierce is pretty clearly out of his depth here, but as in should be in newbs game, as opposed to Yuri/Sian's "not good enough to beat two of the best RB has to offer."

Anyway, good for mackoti for trying to do something. But this game already reads like PBEM4 to me - NS7s personal sandbox. Hopefully I'm proven wrong - I do love the map.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

rolleye Man, Seven's micro and pure civ skill is incredible, but his ability to metagame is just lacking here.

Agreed, though I hope it will change in the near future with all the wars going off.

Speaking of which, anyone want to predict who wins the following match-ups?

Luddicator & Sian vs. Fierce
Mackoti vs. NS7
Yuris vs. Sian

PBEM 23 Pick-em

Luddicator beats Fierce (Sian finds a way to lose)
Mackoti goes down and drags NS7 with him
Yuri beats Sian, and makes up ground on NS7... setting up a cavalry clash.

Realistic? probably not, but i like rooting for the underdog (while still learning from the favorites)
