Since we are playing a cultural game, can we declare war on other CIVs? Of course, we loose 5 potntial points for every CIV we kill off, but maybe that might get me a quicker win, more resources, or something positive...

Yes, you can attack and kill everyone else if you want to. There are no penalties or restrictions attached to declaring war. But every civ removed from the game is a potential 4 points lost in the final scoring.

A Cultural Victory is one of the five different victories you can win in Civ4 (along with Conquest, Domination, Space, and Diplomacy). For Epic Eleven, every victory condition except Culture has been turned off. The only way to win is to accumulate 75,000 culture in three different cities. Check the instruction manual or any of the many game reports we have here for more information on how to win by culture.

Man, did it have to be on Epic speed? Culture takes long enough on Normal...

Well, I did regret missing this one the first time around in Civ 3 (just RL time constraints), so maybe I'll start playing it and see where it goes.

and a large map! and i just played long 2 culture games (not counting aborted attempts) in the last two weeks, on epic. very fun, but i was trying to reach a specific goal so it was kind of nerve-wracking at the end haha. well, at least i'm still in culture mode so that'll help.

One more question... Are we allowed to "build culture" late in the game???Seems very similar to moving the slider above 20%...
