You said it yourself (would look the post up if I wasn't so lazy) that GW was on it's way out of your door so I fail to see anything offensive or war-provoking in repeating it. Most people are aware of it by now and have wondered who's taking the spot next, so I'm just bringing it up in as close to an official format as we have. If you think it should be its own topic then go for it, I just didn't feel like making a new one since the subjects seem (at least to me) so closely related. If you're referring to me bringing it up publicly rather than letting it be whispered about in dark alleyways (and us not finding out until after the fact) like all the other times there's been a GL change, well, I'm not going to apologize for that. I'm sorry if you feel attacked, but get over it.
Besides, a hostile takeover would have been me nominating myself and saying stuff like "RBers UNITE! KoP is EEEEEEeeeeeevaaaaaaaaal! We must stand together against him for the sake of our children's children!" Not that it wouldn't have been funny (in the vain of completely idiotic) to start a mini civil war and have us pick sides and pretend like we're all musket touting fronteersmen... but anyways, I think you get my point, exaggerated sarcasm aside.

*sigh* The hostility! *shakes head and drops subject*
On another topic... I don't think we should pickup anymore guild members in-game until they come to the forum and introduce themselves. Or even, start trimming the officier list to the few who actually take the proper steps to introduce RB to new members and vice versa.

Just remember RB > RBGW and you can do no wrong ![[Image: smoke.gif]](http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smoke.gif) Well, if you really want to pass on the GL position, then I'll step up and take the job. You and I did discuss it waaaaay back when, and I still worry that I don't spend enough time online to be an effective "leader." But if everyone is comfortable with me "just pushing buttons" (because believe me, that's what you're gonna get!), then okay.
If a change of GLship, or myself as "candidate", aren't what RBers want, then let's talk about it - out here in the open. I'm all for frank discussion of what we want from our guild.

Lurker Wyrm Wrote:I brought the idea of a seperate PvP based RB guild a looooooooong time ago. At the time, the only people interested in PvP were me an SF. I'm willing to re-entertain the idea if others are. The big problem to that though, is how would we split up? We've got over 90 people in the guild now, and I know that there are some people that are mixed between PvP and PvE, i.e. they primarily play PvE but are interested in doing casual PvP. Would it be smart to mix casual PvPers into a guild of people that want to be competative? No, if you want a truly competitive guild, then you don't want casual GvGers in there, IMHO. This could be a possibility that we raise at the Alliance Meeting - there's nothing that says a competitive GvG guild would have to come solely from the ranks of RB.
Quote:A large portion of the roster is inactive. Is that any more of a problem?
Yes, I think it is. I think we should entertain the idea of kicking the names that haven't been online for over a year out of the guild entirely. Realistically, if they haven't come back for Nightfall or EotN, they're probably never coming back.
In response to KoP's and Wyrm's suggestion about not inviting folks/trimming names who don't come to the forums - well, I think the not-inviting part is easy enough, and I think it's a good idea. But throwing guild members out who don't post on the forums? That's more iffy, IMHO. After all, how much posting constitutes "enough"? Is one post saying, "Hey, this is my in-game name, thanks for inviting me" enough? If not, where do you draw the line? One post a month? 10 posts a month? I'm not saying that we shouldn't consider trimming inactives at all, but I think we need to really think about the issue first.
Just my $0.02.

What I meant here is to dump everyone down to member status and only have a handful (or less) of officiers who do take proper steps to introduce members to the RB. (Although that can be a can of worm best left alone.) People I know to uphold this practice are (not to say others don't, just that I have not witness it):
Foxbat
Drasca - This guy likes to interview people even for a PuG mission ![[Image: rolleye.gif]](http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/rolleye.gif) but he's mostly inactive.
WarBlade - we have recruited a couple members together. Just ask Seijin the drill we put him thru. I think he was bored to submission
Some of the inactive list should be exempted from deletion unless we need the room to accept more members. Example, Occhi, SoulEdge, SoulFlayer, Drasca, and me, people who are longstanding RBers.

Ha ha ha ... oh wait. I do that! Yes, I like to take care of my little groups when I can, and the added social effort usually pays off. I don't regret any of it.
Just waiting for a stable internet connection and stable time to play *sigh*. God I miss having all day.
I like Hawk too, but I currently don't see any point in a GL name change. Ok, so the throne has a new babysitter, but there's still little direction going on, nor great desire and motivation to really go anywhere.
I suppose the question I want to ask is: What the heck do you guys want to do with your GW playtime? What can we do to spark interest, streamline the logistics process, and make our play enjoyable?

Eh... to be blunt, that's a bad idea. Nobody has really taken any "measures" when inviting new people to the guild to make sure they join the forums or whatever, including the people on your list - it's never been something that was said to be neccessary. Also, what about the GvG people? You have to have an officer of the guild on the team to start a GvG, so by trimming the list down to 1-3 people you're going to be cutting people off from that. The officer list is fine the way it is. If you want to change it I would say a better change would be actives = officers and inactives = members.

I guess we are just delusional, of course, you would know better what we do when we recruit.

Me neither but I think Wyrm's looking out for me and doesn't want me to spread myself to thin.
I am grateful to Hawkmoon for stepping up, ![[Image: thumbsup.gif]](http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif) I will make the switch after this post.
