The chat itself isn't that interesting. I mean we mocked Commodore a good deal if you guys really want to read that. tongue Neither one of us really were all that surprised by this - Commodore clearly went on some sort of bender 6 months ago and gambled away his common sense and this just the natural progression. As soon as we discovered he was our closest neighbor we've basically just waiting for what self-destructive, ill-considered move he was going to make. As you learned in 29, we're perfectly willing to be driven by spite. Though I expect Commodore will go down a lot easier than you guys did, mostly because we plan to outtech him as opposed to being outteched in 29.

Actually, Commodore did you a favor. Kiki (must rename after new management takes over) is in the same spot you were going to settle anyway. Think of it as a free settler/free worker turns improving tiles. If he would have planted on a hill (which I would have done), ya *that* would have been quite annoying. As it is, he built you a city, vulnerable to attack, that meshes well with your empire.

I edited the last micro post. I forgot to mention the new workers on turn 46.

Not quite sure what caused Commodore to completely lose his mind overnight, because I actually highly doubt this was his original intent, but this is what we opened the save to:

There's just absolutely no reason for this. He can't possibly think he's going to take us out. So all he's doing is his usual of late "Let's try and ruin everyone's game since I have no confidence in my own abilities." More proof, I suppose, of the irrational behavior of humans. In this case we've done absolutely nothing to antagonize him as well as there being no chance we can possibly be the favorites in the game, so he's just being a douche for the sake of being a douche.

Anyway, haven't yet decided how to respond but I figured I'd let the dedicateds know what's going on.

Can he see into 'Royal Crypts' from there?

Maybe that's why he's holding there so he has visibility into 2 of your cities?

Its possible, but the wardec carries psychological implications I assume he'd be aware of since he's not dumb which to me at least would outweigh the benefits of visibility. I have little doubt his intent is to attack.

If he only wanted visibility then he would have offered a treaty already.

My only response to this is: what the fuck is your problem Commodore?

Anyway, Nobbiekins and I played the turn.

As stated, Commodore lost his mind for the what... 4th game he's played in a row? I actually think mackoti broke him as a Civilization player when he NAP-stabbed in 24 and he's just no good to anyone now, himself included. Regardless, you'll find two more bitter, spiteful, angry bastards then Noble and I only in hell. Lewwyn's around here as well occasionally and he's a pretty angry bastard himself. So Commodore most certainly picked the wrong hombres to mess with. Nonetheless, clearly we are on the backfoot at the moment, so we did this:

Dry-whipped an Axe working max hammers. As you can see, overflow works out to complete a spear at end of next turn. We recalled a scouting warrior to cover the copper mine and advanced the capital's MP warrior such that it could cover Cathedral should Commodore advance further. So right now that puts the balance of units in the area at Axe, Spear, Warrior for Commodore against Axe, Spear, 4 Warriors for us. The ball is really in his court now - I offered a peace treaty. If he accepts that, life goes on Obla-di, Obla-da. If he declines when he advances to flat ground in attempt to pillage the copper we probably send everything at him and see what happens. The sum total of these actions is we have to play around a bit to make sure Math comes in on time and we end up with 1 less worker than originally planned. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but certainly sub-optimal.

Oracle before Stonehenge. yikes Its either Dave or Yuri based on cities founded on T0, which means it has to be Yuri. If he builds Colossus here I believe it will be the 458902474th straight game he has done Oracle-Colossus. lol

Here's the demographics:

We probably don't need to send everything at him just yet. Could complete a second axe first. We'll see.
