What the fucking fuck

1) I buy Diablo 3.

2) I finish act 1. It tells me to buy the full edition to continue and then just leaves me in the final room with no further information.

3) I spend hours trying to debug and fix this issue. Finally I come across a news article that says that Blizzard added this "feature" on purpose. Apparently I can't buy the game I bought for them for 3 days. And the way they implemented it was by telling me that I haven't bought it yet. How is that even legal????

Is this the Act II skill wall you hit?

Seems awfully strange. Is it just a 3 day wait?

Sounds like you downloaded their demo version? Or you DLed it before purchasing? Maybe its not attached to your battle net account?

I don't know about that. You just can't progress after you kill the skeleton king; you have no quests. Nor apparently can you get past level 13. They say this lasts 72 hours.

They introduced this with the recent patch 2 days ago. I unwittingly bought the game right after the patch, when the information about this wasn't very searchable yet. It certainly wasn't presented to me when I bought the game, and like I said the game just stops working after the skeleton king and tells you to go online and buy a copy. It's the most absurdly anti-consumer feature I've ever seen on a game. I mean I thought DRM was bad.

Yeah apparently if you buy it online this is enforced.

I'm speechless. This is the stupidest shit I have ever seen.

Here's one of the threads about it:

Not that I agree with this decision, but I think it's some sort of feature to reduce the negative side effects of professional gold/item selling or something related to that.

Wow, that's incredibly silly. Can't they just disable the AH for 72 hours?

Wow. smoke

This makes me feel better about not buying D3. I plan on never letting Blizzard see another cent of mine.
