The Seven Samurai- A Most Honorable Competitive SG

How about a mini-Pitboss, where each player commands a small squad of troops instead of just yourself? Pitboss means that you actually have control of your own team.

Of course, this ends up turning Civ from a strategy game to a tactical game... could still be fun.

Glad you all enjoyed the map for this one. I did play out a shadow after creating the map and won pretty easily too. I mainly stuck to the first strikes line of promos after getting leadership and morale (2 move promo I think...) This would have been a lot harder if the game speed was on normal.

One thought I had when I saw the 5 threads on the demo game.

Have multiple (say 3) teams play (privately) the same SG, with diplomacy and civics only done at the end of each set (say every 10 turns) however diplomacy is voted between all teams.

Hence say on turn 20, I propose a revolt to slavery, I need a majoirty vote between all the teams to do that.

Also lets say the other 2 teams vote to declare war on india on turn 60, that means I too must declare war.

People think that would work / be interesting?

Greetings Samurai. I had to leave unexpectedly before Sareln-san played his set. Well done.

I'm not surprised that we won, but I am surprised that we didn't lose more samurai to bad RNG luck. I think Ichabod had the most honorable exit.

I wonder if it would have played out differently under somewhat different rules...eg no attacking enemy capitals with Samurai or if players continued to take turnsets after their avatars were slain...and points were only earned when under the control of these un-avatared players.

Still, certainly a unique game. Thanks BC!

Could work, could horribly fail. Sounds great! We could also have competition again, with each player getting points, and the player with the most points win. In addition, there could be team points, which are just adding up the points of all the players. So you get 'I need to beat others on my team' mixed with 'I need to help my team beat the other team.' And the general civic changes give your team a chance to sabotage the other teams.
