Very interesting variant. I see potential abuse of one of the rules/scoring options, but I wont personally abuse it and I wont post about it here either so other people hopefully don't use it lol .

I will play this for sure! Pretty good idea for an emergency variant thumbsup

I don't like the scoring system - there are no demerits so I cannot produce my usual negative score (joke!!).
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

A nice idea, hmm I actually need to plan ahead a lot more then normally as I had only one game where I used a corporation seriously.

Just get your capital razed to wipe out the corporation. No Sushi, no points. hammer

The Rules Wrote:You may not expand Sid's Sushi corporation into another city (domestic or foreign) unless your finances are running positively (in the green) at 50% research or above.

Unlike Qwack, I've never been shy about pointing out loopholes. wink That's easily skirted by setting cities to Wealth and hiring taxmen. There's no easy way to patch up that rule, so we'll have to trust our players to abide by the spirit of it.

Is there a write up on how corporations work?

Look, I'm well aware of that. We can do this one of two ways:

1) I can go back and redo the rules, creating a lengthy list of exploits banning all the little financial tweaks that artificially boost income.
2) I can trust that our players understand the point of the rule and will behave accordingly.

I would much rather stick with #2, especially given that I drew this game up on short notice, but if necessary we can go with the "pain in the ass" routine of #1. Please advise me on what the community would prefer.

I'm sure we'd all prefer to do things the sporting way.

I'm still glad T-Hawk brought this out in the open however, since while I rarely hire merchants, I ofter have cities build wealth. Knowing it's specifically non in the spirit of the game (even without an exploit list) is helpful to me.

I think it's less about what exactly you're doing (running merchants, wealth, etc.) and more about which question you're answering: 1) Am I running a profit at 50% research with my "normal" tile assignments at this point in the game, versus 2) Can I assign citizens to tiles in such a way as to make a profit at 50% research right now.

I think we can agree to a gentlepersons agreement here.
