I bought and played Bastion on steam the other day, and I was really impressed, even though it's not really my genre (I'm so bad at timing shots/dodges/etc).
It's an action RPG, but it's not like Diablo - the focus is on being able to play in different ways and not on getting massively stronger. You get 2 weapons and 1 special skill from a pretty large selection, plus (always) a shield that can block attacks and an evasive roll. And X passive skills at level X (1-10). And you go around and kill monsters. A fair amount of customization is available, and the weapons are all pretty different.
The music is great (demand was high enough that they are selling the soundtrack), and overall the ambiance is fantastic. And uh, there's a narrator...
Anyone else given it a try? Opinions?
(Story spoilers in spoiler tags please, though yes I've finished it.)

You shouldn't compare it to Diablo, it is more like Zelda meets a dungeon runner like NoX (it is very similar to NoX).
While I don't like Diablo, I like games in this subgenre since the experience is crafted and therefore much tighter. Also the freaking mortar is imbalanced

The game is indeed awesome, anyone who hasn't played it yet should grab it ASAP. The narrator and soundtrack are probably better than anything you will see in a big AAA game.

I considered it, but after watching a gameplay video I don't think I'd be able to get into it.

Folks would come from all over, to a place they called the Realms Beyond. There, they'd challenge each another to games of diplomacy and skill, and show off their strategies. Winning was less important than learning.
But you can't do this forever. Challenging your fellow man wears on your soul. Sometimes you just want to wind down, soak in the mood, listen to some fine tunes. And for that, folks would go to a place. They called it the Bastion.

You can download the demo on steam to try it. It's pretty much just the tutorial, though.

As someone who isn't usually into isometric-view brawlers, I rather enjoyed it.
Try it out. Or at least the demo. It's well worth your time.
It has some of the most touching moments in gaming, and was ranked #2 best game of 2011 by Zero Punctuation. Plus the polish is rock solid, mechanics crisp, and weapons and enemies meaty and satisfying. Although a few of the challenge levels might frustrate you, that frustration only lasts around 15 minutes. And then you wonder why you were frustrated for so little time.

How is the replayability? Is there anything to do after you finish the story?
