NobleHelium Wrote:We can't play the turn yet because Gaspar is busy, but rival top power is now at 586k. Last turn it was at 648k, and that was before Commodore played and his power went up slightly at EOT, probably a bit less than our increase. We increased by 21k power last turn. So I'd say Commodore has lost at least 75k power, conservatively. Rival average power is now at 470.5k. It was previously at 485.5k. 15k power change across 4 people is 60k total. Commodore's WW has also gone up to 99 from 25 and Bravery has lost 2 population. Mist's WW has not gone up, and he also got another GG.

Conclusion: Commodore is attacking Bravery. Is he winning? I don't know for sure, but I think Mist is at least holding him off because the overall power loss was less than Commodore's estimated loss (Mist obviously built some number of units on his turn). Of course Commodore may have lost so many units that Mist is now top rival power, and we have no way of telling until next turn when we see the graph update.

Yeah, as Noble already stated - pretty good turn. Big power dip for Commodore with no corresponding dip for Mistabod that we can tell. Commodore suiciding units = win. Our spy in Commodoria didn't really see anything threatening:

He did tech Optics. This is good news because it means he's prioritizing Circumnavigation over stuff that can attack us before we get Rifling. This is bad news because it means he'll land Circumnavigation. On the whole, I don't think navy will be important enough on this map for the extra move on ships to matter, but time will tell.

Additionally, as stated we teched Literature last turn. That in addition to Mistabod's marble allowed us to do this:

You'll note that we're already running specs. That's because NoFunHelium knew that GPP is passed after production, so the completion of NE precedes the GPP being calculated, allowing us to get doubling on the first turn. Sure, nobody likes him because he's the most boring man who ever lived, but he's super handy to have around in these cases. Its kind of like teaming with Seven minus the intuition and personality. wink

Speaking of ol' NoFun, we're almost about to get his pet Prophet out of Leoric's Manor:

It is, of course, way too late to build a Shrine. Even though a Shrine does get the Monk wonder bonuses, the payback horizon on that versus using that Prophet for half a GA or even possibly as a 3rd of the 3-man is most likely much further than there is time left in the game. Still, my partner loves him some Shrines and loves him some Culture so we'll probably build it anyway.

We teched Gunpowder this turn and depending on what happens between now and when we get the turn in, we'll most likely be able to squeeze in Replaceable Parts over the next two turns. Small possibility we play it risky and squeeze Music in there.

So Commodore losing lots of power, NE down and producing immediately, no immediate threats in the Desolate Sands area. Pretty good turn I'd say. nod Here's the demos:

Hrm. Seem to have forgotten to crop score on there. Oh well. Anyway, pretty nice, #1 in all the important demos except Crop Yield.

...

I guess I did neglect to mention one small detail of the turn. Its not really a big deal, probably can just append it to the next turn report.

...

Don't you hate when Parkin does what I just did, make it like no big deal and then drops a wonder completion he never mentioned even once into a spoiler. So annoying. Really hate that. I wouldn't actually do that. Really it was no big deal.

....

Ok, if you insist:

Might have DOW'd Yuri and dropped that stack on the doorstep of Samsun. Maybe. wink

In a best case scenario, Yuri just packs all his HAs into Samsun and we get to murder the majority of his army on T0 of the war. In a worst case scenario, he pulls them out and goes for the kill on Khasim Outpost. In a most likely scenario, he'll pull a good chunk of them back to harass our troops as we advance and we take out whatever token garrison he leaves in Samsun. Time will tell. We're obviously razing Samsun, we have a replacement settler for 1NE of the city that was completed this turn, if we take Samsun on 118 we can found on 119. In an ideal scenario, this happens:

I highly doubt it will go that smoothly or that quickly, but that's the basic idea, nonetheless. Any questions?

Two quick things - all those numbers on the 2nd map are one off - we are already on T117 and second I forgot to post the scores after my, ahem, clever ruse.

Incidentally, 1994 was a pretty good year for me. wink

In case anyone is wondering how we've got info on yuris's units - we moved two workers in to scout before the declaration of war. That's partially why you see that funny assortment of workers on the border there.

Haha! Eat that Commodore! ... Oh wait...

What do you plan on doing with the CKN by Khasim Outpost? I missed him in the screenshot when i first read the update.

He'll probably sit on the hill 2n of Ankara and observe / make opportunistic moves. We might move some other units there as well.

Well, it was a last minute feint to hopefully get him to keep his cats in Ankara. If he rolls them out, we're roading that tile next turn and we can add a couple more units and then maybe take that city without the main stack which would allow main stack to head on towards Edirne. I don't think that will happen, but we figured a little bit of pressure couldn't hurt.
