No, I certianly wouldn't actually try to negotiate. And I think changing my city name to "I'm going to attack commodore" is cheesy, too 
oh - I should have taken a pic, but I think scooter will probably show it. His HA showed up again to attack VultureLand. I hit 'em with my units in VultureMe... he has the toughest damn horse archers i've ever seen when they come to spears, I'll tell you. I killed 1 of his HA with 2 spears, an HA and 2 archers.
I whipped in a ton of units into VultureMe, so at least he'll get a crappy, whipped to hell city when he takes it.
I think pindicator hit commodore last turn, btw.
I have 2 xbows in VultureLand. I think they die, but we'll see.
oh - I should have whipped a damn warrior - it's at least something...

That's what I needed! Pindicator killed one of Commodore's cities. it really wont' help me survive, long term, but it's enough to pull commodore's attention away.
Course, now scooter's going to win - but pindicator still has the biggest power rating...

I killed one of scooters chariots, he killed my HA, I killed his HA, then he left a worker unguarded on his (new) city, so I killed it.
it's probably a feint to get my units into his territory so he can kill 'em, but whatever.

I am doing my best to beat hell out of people who attack me. I'm not winning or doing anything but placing 4th, but at least I can make people be aware of me - basically, if a target shows up on my borders (workers, etc) and I have a decent chance to kill it, I take it. Everyone has taken to using spears, etc, to make changes on my borders

presumably I'm not long for the game. Scooter has knights, commodore is sporting muskets.

ok, not finishing off ToA - I hit a pike guarding 2 worker on scooter's borders, killing it an the workers, but he's got knights, so there's a good chance that I'll lose the stack of HA, so I need to build military so as to not lose my one remaining city.
I will say to both Commodore and scooter - I'm hitting units on my borders no matter who they are, if I can kill 'em.
I'm trying to balance it out - scooter is ahead, but commodore is researching Mil trad, so it may be him ahead.

well, that solves that problem.
Scooter showed up with a huge stack of knights. I hit 'em with cats and HA, but didn't even kill a one.
I have a crossbow and 2 archers (building one now).
The xbow should kill a knight or two.

Just to point out an obvious mistake that you made - I don't know why you thought Commodore's Music ETA wouldn't go down. He was clearly making gold with the number that you saw, so when he actually burned it he would definitely finish it sooner than stated.

yes, i completely agree. it was a dumb decision.
Letting scooter kill that first city was an oversight.
Not getting crossbows when I had a chance to do so? That was the strategic mistake that killed my game - what's insane is that I saw Commodore's power rating going up.
I'll spend some time talking about my game tomorrow... Overall, I've had fun in it
