I bet Seven is laughing at me in the lurker thread for building Versailles if we did in fact get attacked by davy.

I asked davy whether he attacked us and he said he did. Not sure if we'll see the turn today but I expect we'll abandon Silver Spire.

The short banter between Dave and he makes it apparent Dave gifted the units to Commodore. I'll expect Silver Spire razed by double-moved Musketeers on our turn.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
Take Commodore's post in the banter thread as confirmation. We're probably too far ahead at this point to make a huge issue out of it though if he was particularly effective with them I expect Noble to burst several blood vessels.

I told you he would keep Silver Spire, Gaspar. Anyway I'll be able to open the turn in 60-90 minutes and then WE SHALL SEE.

I peeked at the save and saw that Commodore built the Confucian shrine. The only way that could have happened is if davy gifted him his Prophet from about 20 turns ago (most recently born Prophet, and we know Commodore doesn't have any Prophets since we can see his entire empire).
I don't mind a dogpile on the leader at all, but how does this help you win in any way? And what did we ever do to you, davy? Commodore is the one who attacked and razed your city, not us. You might as well gift all your cities to him or vote for him in the UN.

Anyway I had a chat with scooter and I retract my comparison of the Prophet gift to gifting away all cities. Sorry about that, that was my instinctive response.
me: obviously i'm not asking for spoilers scooter: right me: or asking for people's motivations right now scooter: yeah me: which would be a spoiler scooter: anyways, my opinion is this I don't have a problem with what davy did. I would be annoyed if I was in your shoes of course, but I don't think he's being ridiculous, spiteful, etc. you do have a valid complaint about the musketeer double-move, and if you want a reload, you probably should get it (and it sounds like commodore is willing) me: i don't have a problem with the musketeer gifting scooter: however, I don't believe Commodore realized the implications of the double-move so there wasn't malicious intent fwiw me: i don't see how the prophet gifting does anything except help someone else win though scooter: and I cannot know for sure if it actually swung things, but Commodore claims it will not. (speaking of the musket doublemove) me: well i'm trying to ascertain how much of a difference it actually made before answering his question in the banter thread scooter: you prob know better than me on that one (brb 2 mins) me: mostly i'm waiting for gaspar to log on before i ascertain taht anyway what i mean to say i'm fine with the musket gift i didn't expect it, but war by proxy is perfectly fine i don't see how giving away a GP helps him win the game though scooter: ok, I can't say for exactly dave's thinking on the gift (he didn't fully explain that anyways so I can't be sure), but I can say this non-spoilery empowering the one person who can maybe (prob not) topple the leader is logical me: sure, that is logical scooter: if your only hope is stopping a runaway, and your neighbor can use something to do that better than you can, a gift does make some shred of sense so if by some miracle commodore beats you me: if he gifted all his cities to commodore, that would also greatly increase commodore's chances of toppling us would that be logical too? scooter: yes that helped commodore towards winning, but maybe by then dave will be in a better position to now organize a commodore dogpile if that makes sense. but if commodore loses vs you, his position doesnt matter anyways no, because that eliminates his chance of winning a prophet gift doesn't do that. I mean, his chances are so microscopic, so it's all theoretical me: well, i guess scooter: and i honestly have no idea if there was a signfiicantly good use of a prophet he could have made, i'm not nearly up on his empire enough me: i guess the key is whether commodore's use of the prophet minus the loss of the prophet to him increases his chances of winning scooter: yeah and that I dk the answer to but if he thinks his chances of winning with the prophet in commodores hands is slightly better than in his hands, I'm ok with it btw, would've been hilarious if commodore killed dave with the musketeers terrible but hilarious me: yes that's one of the big reasons why i didn't think dave would do it given that commodore has already attacked him big chance of getting slazed there scooter: yeah

Okay, apparently he also gifted an Artist. That's 2/3 of his next GA, and I'm sure he can get another GP of another type. I'm really not seeing how gifting those is more beneficial to him than keeping them.
