I'm not sure they can see that - we don't have a trade connection yet.

So when somebody logs in, he can check whether we see their resources and let us know. I do not think they can see it, but better make sure smile

Just checked - se don't see their resources.

As I said, EP spending is a trade off: CFC research vs. German power graph right now.

Looking at the turn screenshot it's t56 right now, so they technically got Meditation t55. Should I assume the other tech dates are similarly offset?

It's certainly a close thing if they decide to go for Oracle too. According to kjn's estimates which look quite solid, they'd get priesthood t59, and could then take as few as 8 turns to build the oracle if they set up 14h of overflow (e.g. having a warrior at 12/15 two turns prior and turning on production as priesthood finishes), meaning they'd finish it t67, and beat us. Even if they are a turn slower, it would be a coinflip.

On the other hand, would a team really do that? Come late to the religion party and then spend 9 turns of production (including giving up about 27 FIN riverside cottage-turns) gambling that they will land the wonder? Well, I think it's possible. It's not unheard of in the rush to get oracle to delay important worker techs. And oracling CoL for ORG sacrificial altars is clearly strong.

I still think it's worth trying for oracle, since there isn't much cost, but great reward.

Regarding EPs, I'm pretty sure that keeping some on CFC would be a diplomatic faux pas.

Yes, I usually count the first turn "of effect" as when you can interact and do something about a new Civ object, so most things are counted as being at the start of turn (city foundings and bulbs are noted as on the turn they happen, since you can make use of those things at once).

I also do like the fact that we have as much EPs as possible towards CFC bu I really think that the first priority in espionage is having the power graphs of our neighbours. Especially if it is possible that they are the No. 1 in soldier points. Therefore I think 1:2 point division (CFC:German) is the minimum we should consider.

I really don't care what CivFanatics is researching, but I care greatly about how much power the German team has. The Espionage Points will be reassigned in a few minutes when I play our turn.

Do we want to have a team consensus on describing turn events? I've been using the same system as kjn. I'd argue that CivPlayers didn't found Buddhism on Turn 55; it wasn't in any of their cities, and they couldn't use the religion. When they ended their turn, they discovered Meditation, and it popped up in their city at the start of Turn 56, this current turn. (In the same fashion, our Oracle date is T69 - we don't get the free tech on T68, the in-game popup appears the next turn when the wonder finishes.) I'm not trying to be pedantic here, just trying to avoid confusion. The way SevenSpirits has everything notated in his online spreadsheet kept throwing me off. lol

i say 100% EP towards Germans. Just to get power graphs, that's essential.

Also, any confusion with Seven is probably because he's a PBEM player at heart and those games have distinct during-turn and end-of-turn phases tongue

As another PBEM player, I prefer describing things happening during a turn as on turn X, and things happening when the turn rolls as end of turn (eot) X. That seems pretty unambiguous to me.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when CivPlayers founded Buddhism eot55, they got holy city culture immediately and they could also have gotten free religion spreads. Wonders completing immediately give GPP, tech discoveries can upgrade build queues, HG completing increases the pop of cities that are later in the processing order, the TM golden age affects the production and GPP generation in later cities, and so on. So many events have an effect already during the turn roll during which they occur. Therefore I think it's important to clearly state which turn roll we're talking about, and T56 doesn't clearly communicate this, as this could mean both eot55 and eot56 to me.

Agreed on EP spending, btw.
I have to run.

PLEASE use EOT X for things that happen at end of turn (which is most things). It is much clearer and more accurate.
