Turn 19 report:

Contact! I met Viqsi's scout diagonally across from where I moved. She named her civilization the Pho'ni Empire.

Also, the Worker finished at the end of the turn. Time for a Corny joke ... get it?!??

Turn 20 report:

The Worker finished and went to farm the Corn. I started on a Warrior. Sending the Scout so far north was definitely a mistake - now I need a Warrior to scout out the east; if the Scout had been available, I could have gone straight on to a Settler.

might just be personal preferences but i prefer growing to size 4 before starting the settler, revolting to slavery just after the warrior is made, and then whipping the settler asap

So maybe it'll work out anyway.

For Turn 21, here's a picture of the work proceeding about Armenelos apace:

Turn 23

Okay, some interesting things happened this turn.

First, I met another player - Sareln:

Note the scores - this'll be important in a minute.

At the end of the turn, I discovered Bronze Working. Here is the only source of Copper revealed thus far:

Notice how Viqsi's score shot up when I ended the turn. How is that possible? It's not her turn!

I'd really like sending the warrior to the hill to the Northeast of your capital first ... unless theres something very interesting out in the waters (demanding a settlement on that hill) i'd settle 1e of the copper (stealing the capital corn)

Yes, that's what I was planning on for the Warrior too. I hadn't thought about stealing Armenelos' corn - that would solve some of the problems I was having trying to place that city.

only other placement would be 1n which have a mere clam ... not great by any stretch of imagination, but strategically important

Not many hammers there, though. That's what I was worried about.

it would probably end up getting cottaged, and for infrastructure i'd say that while not breathtaking then a coppermine and the extra hammer from settling on Plain Hill would work.

But lets not discuss the color of the chickens before they hatch ... tongue
