oh yeah ... right ... misremembered ... still think Rice is a viable settle choice, just then not as high priority since it have to share food with second when growing

Well ... I screwed up this turn. I logged into the game, saw that Armenelos had grown, and thought to myself, "Now what did Sian say? He said build a Worker first, then a Settler." So I switched the build to Worker, forgetting the part about letting the city grow to size four first! Sorry ...
As for Romenna, just founded, I selected Monument - I figure it'll need to expand its borders somehow; might as well build that while waiting for it to grow.
Here are both cities:
By the way, I can't be sure, but something about the scores and demographics makes me suspect this was the second second city founded in the game, behind Fintourist. Like I said, I can't be sure though.

good things first ... Mounument first in the new city is probably wise (although it doesn't really have a critical need for one its nice to have all 21 squares, given no resources unavailable till borderpops
well ... Worker now and then grow ... might work, but as said, i believe growing to size 4 first would have been more worthwhile
Out of interest ... what are your current worker doing at the moment? ... getting ready to pasture?

Yeah, I'm sorry about the mistake with the growing/Worker. It wasn't intentional.

Here's a good overview shot of everything that's happening right now:

Nothing of note this turn. The scouting Warrior confirmed that there are no more resources (seafood) to the southeast. What we see is what we get!

The Worker came out at the end of the turn; he'll go help his brother herd the sheep. Armenelos will grow to size four while building a Warrior.

use him to mine the hill to the north of you instead ... i somewhat doubt its worth it to 'waste' 1 turn getting a pasture 1t quicker

The reason (and you can tell me if it's a good one or not) I wanted to have him help pasture is because it will hopefully (I'll double-check before doing anything, of course) shave a turn off Armenelos' growth, syncing up the Warrior build and the city's growth and allowing me to start on the next Settler a turn faster. If that's not worthwhile I'll be happy to send him elsewhere though.

It turns out the second Worker couldn't have arrived in time to help with the pasture at all, so I sent him to the hill 1N of Armenelos like you said, Sian.

Ah ... nothing much. One Worker finished the pasture, the other started the mine. The pasture does indeed allow Armenelos to both grow and finish the Warrior in two turns.
And ... I think my Scout is going to die. He's scouting out Fintourist's lands, and I think Fintourist means to trap him. I did gain visibility on his capital, though, which I think will allow me to see what buildings he has there in future, right (that updates even if you don't have renewed line of sight, right?)?
