Sounds good to me. smile

Sure, let's do that! Knowing myself, I might not be as engaged in the planning as I would be if I were alone responsible for my mistakes, but I'm happy to help you pink-dotting in every possible direction. Ded-lurking/teaming up is definitely a better solution for my private life as well lol

Well, if you want a 5th, I guess I fulfill all of your entry criteria? So, I'd be happy to play if you want me.

Serdoa is the person that fits most with Gaspar's entry criteria so far. lol

Certainly happy to have you.

Yeah, this really isn't remotely the lineup I was originally looking for, but I'll roll with it. I'd like some group opinion on how to handle Seven though - the handicap is sort of a catch-22: no handicap, he's overwhelmingly likely to win; some handicap and it looks pretty lame for him.

Anyway, anyone have any thoughts on how we want to handle picking/mappage/etc?

Point scheme as in 45 and dock Seven a point or five? Obviously, various traits' valuation would be different, unless you'd like to order up the same type of map.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Well, if I don't have to, I won't create another 20 point long list, I'm sure someone else can do that just as good :D

But in regards to Seven: Simply let him start with 20 turns in, I guess by T100 he will only lead by around 10 turns then, so that should be doable lol No, seriously, I think I'd rather not have Seven punished just for being Seven, because that would just be so much more embarassing to lose to.

Anybody want to team with me?

As for Seven - I don't mind playing for second place. smile
I have to run.

I think we are already all aligned for a major dogpile at T100. Consequently, no handicaps needed, but maybe Seven could pick first so that he has a chance to pick Boudica and delay the inevitable destruction!

Sorry luddite, it seems making friends is not part of my toolkit.

I'm not super fussy on the map - so long as we know what we're getting into re: valuing traits like Org (difficulty, wrap), Fin (amount of water) and Ind (availability of stone/marble.) I'd prefer something where there's a reason to explore navally but without it being the be all end all of the game.

As far as Seven, maybe we just give him last in turn order? That's a penalty without it being super lame like any other things we might do are.

Always War alleviates a lot of the other issues, so I'd really be ok with the only bans being the ones I mentioned in the OP. In case it comes up, I only want spies banned primarily because I don't want to deal with them, not so much because I think they're zomg-broken.

In terms of leader picking, I'm okay with a point scheme similar to 45 but I also don't mind just doing a standard snake pick without any bans. Though I think we should ban novice from taking India just on general principles. wink
