My votes:
Civ/Leader restrictions: There was some interest on the team in using 2nd tier traits, so I wouldn't mind a points system. Otherwise, I'm okay with no bans.
Wonder bans: None
Unit bans: War Elephants, Spies (total)
Map Preferences: Agree on handcrafted and balanced not necessarily mirrored. Would rather err on more lush than more arid. Some naval component but not naval dominant.
Forgot about this earlier, would like to add coastal blockades to the ban list.

A regoarrarr-style 3rd consecutive post. I'd like to get to the picking/map-making phase quickly to give Commodore ample time to screw me make the map during the festive period. So if Seven, Serdoa and mack can get their preferences in by the end of the day that'd be swell.

Gaspar, I agree with all you have posted. As for picking, I too would like a point-system and of course to see screenies of our start before we pick.

As said, I would love to challenge the vets here, but I realize that my Civ CV is not really comparable to other players and also not aligned with Gaspar's opening post. Therefore, if mackoti is willing to play, I think it's fair to let him take the place and I will ded-lurk/team up with somebody.
If for some reason, mackoti or someone else changes his mind (or you are crazy enough to go with 6 players or something) I'm still interested. I would have the time to play the turns and as a student have flexible schedule, although my girlfriend probably disagrees..
You'd probably learn a lot more by reading and asking questions. I think the greens/vets mirror games are rather silly actually, even if the same combo is played the game would probably deviate after t20. You'd be better off just lurking the vets game. We've gotten past the phase of explaining everything though, so you really need to ask questions to really learn things.
29 was kind of an exception, but half the greens weren't green in that game either.

I don't quite catch what you are saying since I'm not proposing a greens game. What I'm saying is that at some point I would like to challenge the vets. Currently with no finished games under my belt teaming up with someone experienced would have been an option for this game.

It's not directly related. It's just that what you posted got me thinking about the greens' learning curve. I think you guys are learning a lot slower than you could be. You're right though, being a teammate or dedlurker to a vet is a great way to learn, I did that.

1. I guess playing in a greens game does not exactly exclude lurking dozens of games.
2. Does that mean that you have actually read my PBEM 45 thread and based on my possibly weak performance concluded that I would be better off doing something else?

Uh, no. I'm saying I can't read your thread and you can't read our thread because of the silly mirror thing. You'd have been better off having a separate game entirely.

Oh, you are playing in the vets game there I totally forgot that. I was kind of hoping that I would have gotten some feedback from you on how I'm performing.
Well personally, I'm looking forward to reading the threads of both the vets and opponents. The games surely deviate, but especially the early stages of the game will be interesting to compare. Leader&civ picks, dot-mapping the core area and early expansion as a whole are all comparable topics.
Of course, it will be a long time until I get that information, but in the meanwhile with ISDG, demo game, PB8 and several PBEMs there are enough chances for lurking and asking questions.
