Sorry, miscounted. The TH axe would complete on the same turn that we move 3 tiles from the city. And novice's plan has some workers 2N of FF which may be a bit exposed, so it might be better to keep the axe around for that.

These are fun turns indeed. smile

I like Sullla's suggestion for the scout movement, and I think 1 axe is enough to whittle away at the barb city's defenses. We can farm it up to at least 7XP that way, too. As for the axe in the northwest, I would keep it unpromoted for now, unless promoting saves a turn of healing.

Oh, and maybe we should move our healing axe at Seven Tribes into the city instead. Our workers are planning to farm the wheat next turn, and if a barb warrior moves up from the fog on the interturn, our axe won't be in position to guard the wheat from its current location.

Looking over the map, I noticed another small sea south of Seven Tribes - we get waves so it's probably similar to the ones we've discovered already.

But more important, I think that the sea down by CFC is larger than 20 tiles. I get it to at least 22 tiles. If there is a large water down there (and perhaps by Seven Tribes we should try to stake a claim there soon.

novice pointed out that we should move the axeman at Seven Tribes to be in a position to cover the wheat tile next turn. That proved to be an excellent suggestion:

I moved onto the hill, and yep, there's another barb warrior on its way to cause mischief. Now we'll be able to cover the workers on the wheat tile next turn no matter where that barb warrior decides to move. (We even have another axe in Gourmet Menu should more barbs appear further north.) This will get axeman Lew his 7th experience point as we continue to creep towards Heroic Epic status.

We also spotted more tundra and an ice tile down in the extreme south. This is more confirmation that we should concentrate our expansion efforts on the more fertile central parts of the map. There doesn't appear to be any team directly south of us; maybe far to the south beyond the Toroidal world wrap, but no one in the tundra region at least. I'm still wondering if there is an ocean that sits on the north/south worldwrap or if it's a gigantic snow and ice wasteland down there. In any case, we should push up against the borders of all our neighbors before settling the southern regions.
