I know I said it before, but man, we should set up a popcorn vendor if/when Lewwyn finds out scootercator is sending Azza horses. That is going to be epic. He whined at me in gchat for a solid 20 minutes last night and it was killing me just saying, "Sucks man." "Uh-huh." "Yeah, /comfort."
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Yes, since plako is creative he does not need a resource in the first ring. He would have lost the only workable hill, but that's a minor worry compared to the fact that now he can't ever work the rice. Maybe I'm missing something..

A city on rice would make a nice Moai if it ever gets finished

Moai actually works best as turning a mediocre city into a good production city: you don't want it to be all coastal tiles, because even with Moai coastal tiles are pretty bad. The problem with settling on the rice is that it has 15 coastal tiles, loses the food resource, and has no unique land tiles, takes forever to finish the small wonder and when it is finished will only make 15hpt once it grows to size 15. And it needs to steal a seafood from another city to actually grow.
The reason I think the city should have been 2W is that it would have been a good NE city: grass cow, 2 fish and rice that is easily irrigated. Size 13, 8 specialists. It can grow on coastal tiles that you don't care about having worked or not, whereas an inland NE city has to grow on land tiles that you want to work as something other than farms. And you need worker labour to improve an inland NE city, that hill city wouldn't need much at all (2 work boats and can then slave everything it needs, stacking unhappiness to get the granary).

I know it's been said, but man, scooter's horse gift has to be the strategic coup of the game so far (at least of what's been reported.) Instead of a monster dutch victory, a stalemate seems more likely.
Azza's thread has dropped to the bottom of the update pile... I sincerely hope he hasn't lost his morale!

I suppose he'll figure it out once he has mapped out the continent, and sees that Azza had no way of hooking up horses during the war. Or maybe earlier, when he makes peace and sees Azza no longer having horses in the resource screen.
I have to run.

Ha, I didn't realize until now how closely my phrasing resembled that of Gaspar. Imitation, Flattery, etc.
Probably a good thing for Scooter that he isnt the only possible horsey source. I don't see how Lewwyn would be able to pin down the supplier unless someone slips in chat.
