CR2 gives -50% to their defense bonus which in this case is net 0-25%, from warrior city defense, hill bonus, Axe melee bonus, and and variable fort bonus.
C1 shock is 10%, and also - 25% to their aforementioned defense bonus. Looks worse to me.
I think that long term the promotions on this Axe will be irrelevant. Let's get just promote for fastest and safest city capture, meaning city raider.

I'll take the Axe name if no-one objects.

Done!
I also checked being logged in as the non-German timer rolled over. I wasn't forcibly logged out (like I think the Germans are when/if they end turn, and I could still change tile assignments.
Then I logged in again during the German-only part of the timer, and moved Xenu in and out of HF. Ie, we can still move units after our timer has officially expired, at least as long as we are not at war.

I will be out during the day today and will play our turn in about 8 hours from this post. Hopefully this will allow whatever weirdness is going on with the German team to play itself out.

JerryDemmings logged in and finished turn, and I managed to log in quickly, but not before Apolyton did an early-turn whip. More on that in the C&D report.
The good news of the turn is that Hinduism has spread to Forbidden Fruit! This means that we need to re-work the micro in the area, since we can improve the banana much earlier (this will help both FF and MM).
No change in Alemanni - still three and size 1 there.
We have barbarians in both the southwest and northwest:
I see no reason to not attack both barbs this turn.

Another tidbit, I think we can be lucky that none of our neighbours have graphs on us, except maybe CFC:

I'd attack both.
