Diplomacy Master Thread- Helping Your Opponents Beat Themselves

I consider settling pink dot without their approval, however, to be out of the question. I think it would piss them off quite a bit, and ultimately it's not that important for us.

none of my points were as a "Screw you cfc". Taking advantage of their error diplomatically is quite different than punishing them for it.

i would also agree to the B site only if they ask for it.

Here;s another view (more strategic / art-of-war-esque) and its FUN TO PAINT:

we want the situation on the right - a small border - easily defended and monitored where are opponent has limited options of advance. The situation on the left is the opposite of those things.

We don't want to fight them. We won't want to fight them for a long time.

I think I agree with this, but there's been so many various dotmaps posted that I'm not positive I even know anymore. The threads are all very "noisy" right now. Can I get a screenshot with pink, red, and B?

You have my support for what Seven posted.

I am looking at the most recent screenshot in this thread, which waterbat posted.

Okay thanks Seven. So how about this adjustment:

Draft to CFC Wrote:Caledorn/CFC,

While your team is considering our last email, we wanted to ask you about another topic. You told us awhile ago that you had a spot you were planning to settle close to the Oasis, but it seems you have put that on hold to settle other locations. We're also looking at spots in this area, and it's a little unclear to us where you are looking at settling. Can you clue us in on your plans?

The spot our team was thinking about is 1S of the Oasis. It is by far the best fit with our dotmap, and it would serve as our easternmost border with you.

However, I gathered from our conversation that your priority right now is to settle the stone. We don't wish to challenge your right to the stone, so we have a potential compromise. What if you guys settle 1NE of the stone? That gets you stone + rice in the first ring. Stone is second ring for us, and we would do our best not to put too much culture in there so as to challenge your control of the stone. First-ring culture gets a big edge on second-ring culture anyways, so I am sure you would keep it easily. If for whatever reason the stone fell under our control temporarily, we would be willing to gift it to you.

This is moderately time-sensitive as it greatly affects our dotmap, so a timely reply would be greatly appreciated smile.

Thanks,
scooter - Team RB

(grammar/phrasing corrections welcomed, I'm more than a bit jet-lagged right now)

In spoilers, waterbat's screenshot for those who are getting lost tabbing between pages to see the image:

We're proposing we get pink, CFC gets B

The screenshot is slightly off, in terms of matching it with what waterbat said. D should actually be 1N of its current location.

Oh and make sure not to call anything a pink dot in actual diplomacy. We should just retire the use of that color in dotmaps.

I would change "we would be willing to gift it to you" to "we would immediately gift it to you."
