It's okay, Nic just missed the fact that the apocalypse was three weeks ago.

Draft to consider for CFC:

On the turn timer issue - our observing of the issue suggests they aren't having any trouble finishing their turns, they just don't hit enter. A few turns ago they logged in, played, logged out, and then proceeded to not login for 36 hours while the turn timer ran out. They do stuff like this pretty frequently, and it makes it really hard for me to be sympathetic towards them. So I would gently ask you guys to consider that - not as a diplomatic thing - but just as a practical thing for keeping the interest in this game. The German team doesn't have any issues actually playing in that window, they just don't end the turn (if they had 5 hours or 5 days to end turn I don't believe they would do it in either case). WPC is the other side in the war and they're in favor of a reduced timer, so I truly believe this is best for everyone (and so does the entirety of my team). Just something to consider.

We're just trying to defog as much of the map as possible with Welcome Wagon right now since screenshot trading is banned pre-Paper, but directions would be much appreciated. Has diplomatic contact with the Spanish team gotten any better or are they still kind of difficult to communicate with? We have several Spanish speakers on our team, so we're hoping that might help things go smoothly with them.
Thanks,
scooter - Team RB
I also sent this to the diplo contact at WPC:

We're totally fine with maintaining the status quo diplomatically - really sorry to hear you're having forum troubles! We had major forums issues ourselves a couple months back with the forums getting completely knocked offline, so that made things quite difficult for us too. Hope you get them sorted out quickly.
Thanks,
scooter

Maybe add that lowering the timer is mainly of interest while two or more teams are at war. If turns fell regularly every two days otherwise, that's fine. Otherwise, looks good.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

Random thought, but if we want brownie points with CFC we could tell them they have iron in an aside. If we do that it could help with negotiations later on with the oasis site.

On the other hand, that would tell them we have IW ourselves. They might guess it, but this would confirm it.

I wouldn't tell CFC about iron. It does let them know we know it and I don't think we gain that much diplomatically from it.

Ok, slight adjustment to the first paragraph taking into consideration kjn suggestion and Sullla's comment in the turn discussion thread:

WPC is the other side in the war and they're in favor of a reduced timer, so I truly believe this is best for everyone (and so does the entirety of my team). FWIW, this is mainly in the interest of manageable war turns. If it was peace and turns were falling every 48 hours or so at maximum, we could deal with that. However, we've played 10 turns in the last 33 days, which is a pace of 9T/month. If we keep that up, this game will last 3+ years pretty easily, and there's no way I will still be playing this game in 3 years.

How about that? I think the timer gets reduced if CFC is on our side.

I don't think the iron thing is important either way, but I cannot think of a single reason it would be bad for CFC to know we have IW.

I think the diplo message is good. Send it along. With regards to IW, i'd leave it alone. I see no real reason to bring it up. No need to reinforce to them that we're doing very well in the game.
