Minor adjustment we made for those who care about the X's and O's.
Should buy our southern workers another turn to chop. Always the risk he has an axe + 2 workers at the plains tile, but it's worth the risk.

Probably not going to be able to contribute much this week, sorry. Try not to die too quickly.
Oh and turn on Avoid Growth in Subway in case he decides to wait on capturing it.

Ok, so chop finished at McDonalds, but rather than finish the Impi I worked a subpar tile to 1T an axe from scratch:
Reason being we only have 1 axe, and we need an absolute minimum of 2 because he has an axe coming from north and south and we have defensive terrain to cover, and Impi/Chariot pairs won't cut it. So the battlefield looks like this:
Really we need more axes. Impis aren't so great when we're on defense, much better for mobility in enemy/neutral lands. One Impi finishes in LJS EoT and this one in McDonalds is 2/3rds done, but after that it should just be axes/chariots for awhile now that we don't have to walk so far to the front.
Turn should be rolling any minute here, so assuming Commodore plays, I'll probably take another look in tonight to see what he's done.

Alright, so turn just rolled and Commodore played right away. Here's the picture I took pre-turn:
Forgive me for not cooking up a big collage picture, but here's the layout. Commodore has an axe, chariot, and 3 archers. Going north to south, we have an axe/C1 Impi up top, then a single chariot, then a chariot/Impi pair, then the axe in McDonalds and the Impi on the gold. Commodore also has an axe/archer pair sneaking in from the bottom.
Here's the thing. We can cover the gold with just the fresh axe. This is our best shot at hitting part of his offense on open ground. The axe/axe shot is 50/50, but if we kill or redline, every single attack from there on will be at favorable odds. Attack time. Due to my curse in fights with Commodore, Pindicator is doing the fighting here. Results coming shortly.

I think I've just been promoted to wartime turn-player.
As scooter mentioned, we had to get past a 50/50 battle, but after that we'd have odds on every one of his troops. Our axe would wound or damage his axe, and then we had 3 impi and 2 chariots in range of 3 archers and a chariot of his. We could potentially wipe out the stack. Or worst case our axe stumbles and trips on his own blade and the attack stops before it starts.
The results went a little in our favor:
Axe vs Axe - 50%. Won with 60hp left
Impi vs C1 archer - 68%. Won FLAWLESSLY
Impi vs Archer - 73%. Won with 66hp left
C1 Impi vs Archer - 86%. Won with 52hp left
We didn't just win all the battles, we crushed him. There was a strategic error though - if we had taken a 50/50 shot with the chariot before attacking with the last impi then we could have safely done so. Now that we left the chariot for last, we only have 1 chariot in range that can attack and safely withdraw. So if we lose the 50/50 chariot v chariot battle then we can't mop up without losing another. With that in mind, we're waiting.
Plus we gotta figure out what to do with our new GG. Both a 3-move impi or a 2-move axe sound like excellent ideas.
Here's the new composite image:

Just to brainstorm, options for our great general:
* Settle in capital
* Promote impi to 3-move terror
* Promote unit to medic 3
* Promote axe to 3-move shock terror
* Split the xp among a number of units - say get 4 shock impi / shock axes
We also need to:
* Move workers
* Move axe in McD to the hill

For the GG - I really favor dumping it all on the 4xp axe. That'll get us 24XP, good for 5 promos and it'll be one good kill away from a 6th promo. We'd probably take Morale (the extra move promo), C1, Shock, Cover... Maybe C2. Pindicator floated Leadership to milk out more XP.
Question we had on Leadership - say you have the promotion, and you win a fight that would normally gain you 2 XP. Due to Leadership, you would then get 4XP. Is that worth 2 or 4 GG points?

Sadly leadership doesn't help GG points. So pretty much its only value is it makes your unit heal slightly sooner / more, in exchange for being behind on "real" upgrades.

Alright, thanks, that pretty much makes it a useless promo. Good chance it dies before it even breaks even.
I think the way to go is to get the 24XP axe. Take Morale, C1/2/3, Shock, and after we get it 2 more XP, take March so we can keep it fresh on healing easier since we'll need it to survive awhile. We're basically playing the BtS "Defense!" scenario right now. Can you think of anything better? Could go cover with the archer swarm. I'll sleep on it, don't need to decide until tomorrow's turn.
