Is there not another heavy science city that would benefit more from an Academy?

Also University+Oxford down the line makes the Scientist worth 27 beakers/turn. 1 hammer/turn is also worth something. Hard to beat that for quite a while with Academy.
btw. bureacracy bonus affects just commerce not beakers from Scientists. edit. It is our turn, but I'm delaying playing until evening since my NAP suggestions hasn't been responded yet. Clearly I was talking about the +50% to the settled scientist's hammer! ![]() I agree with trying to get those NAPs signed before finishing MoM. If we can't agree on a new settling agreement with Gillette, just sign the NAP separately.

Ok, currency EOT102 will be very tight.
I was able to make it happen in the sandbox though, without delaying any builds. On T101, work two scientists in Bigger while starting the settler, putting 9 hammers into the settler while starving down 3 food. By borrowing from the food box this only puts the settler one hammer behind schedule, which we can compensate for on T103 by working a grassland forest hill (on the turn before we chop that forest). Also work one scientist in BM instead of a cottage on T102. We can afford this without delaying its worker. Finally, I had to work fish+crabs instead of fish+mine in On The Rocks on T102 to eke out the final beaker. This should be fine, even if it probably ends up delaying Moai by one turn. The micro plan is updated with the above instructions. Edit - In stead of, or in addition to, deviating in OTR, BM can actually work two scientists on T102 if needed. It can still complete the worker on time, so long as it keeps working the copper and cows. In short, we'll just have to scrounge up every beaker we can on T102 and see if it's enough. But do remember to work those two scientists in Bitter on T101.

Why did you build a road in the middle of nowhere and then settle on it?

The road was also supposed to be one tile west, but a forest grew there. So first we moved the road east, and then we moved the city north. The best laid plans...
