No, and seriously, what IS up with that? The only thing we could figure is a barb city got founded in the jungle and is blocking our trade route path. Could that be it?

Pindicator - I'll let you do the turn tonight. In a little bit I'm headed out for the night and I won't be home til late, so I don't think we're going to be able to connect on this one. Commodore did move another unit forward btw, so there's a couple things to consider. If you run into anything significant, email me - should be the quickest way.

what does your world map look like?

Barb cities don't block trade routes anymore I think. Besides you wouldn't be able to trade resources in that case.

So another turn, and I guess I thought you said we had lost our chariot as well. Thankfully that wasn't the case, as I was able to kill off an axe he moved right up against the chariot (???). I did it flawlessly too, so we now have a 5xp chariot. Shock most likely, although medic may have it's merits. I also killed the chariot flawlessly, although with the wrong impi, so that when it came to chop I had to move our impi away to cover. We now have a battlefield that looks like this:

We should hold. I'm even tempted to pull the GG axe back, but I don't want to lose the 5xp chariot that's on that hill, so I'm going to make the stand and hope Commodore didn't build an archway out of horseshoes, or didn't cut his hair as the moon was waxing, or doesn't have leprechaun held hostage, or isn't banging the goddess Fortuna, or that whatever the hell it is he's done to deserve this nonsense has worn off and we can get back to a game where the odds actually mean something.

Anyway, I'm tempted to swap McD to a barracks. Because promoted axes are gonna help a lot, especially whenever whatever incarnation of Commodore's GG comes storming in. And Commodore's reinforcements are trickly in a bit more stream-like now than they were before. This way I can still work the clams and still try to grow the town. Oh, the other temptaion is a lighthouse, so we can actually grow the town. Anyone want to chime in? Or should we stay on the axe that I queued up afterwards?

In the northeast, we are chopping into a lighthouse -- next turn we'll whip it:

Then we repeat the same chop+whip trick with a barracks.

And here's that map people were asking for: We have a fully defogged route from our capital to Azza's. So what gives?

Ask for another map trade? What is our import/export value in demos?

Did you just learn sailing? Maybe they'll show up next turn... like learning Astronomy on a continental map?

Hey, I went ahead and swapped McDonalds to an Ikhanda. I think it's the right call. One side effect is it'll speed the next border pop too, which might come in handy. But yeah, we're going to need promos going forward because we'll be outnumbered.

Pretty soon here we should do a run of research builds to get us to Construction.

edit: also asked for another Azza map swap. Finally, check out Civstats. Do you think this username I logged in with is good enough to avert the curse should he attack?
