Well, unless there is something east of the horses, 1W hill looks good for the 3rd city. Clams, Horses, Furs and some Deer. But it requires Fishing.

I wonder what are those 8 hammers about.

It's a good city, but in no rush to be settled. We won't have fishing and sailing by the time the third settler is out, and the spot is behind our lines so no-one will beat us to it. Unless we really need horses for some reason, we should wait and settle it later.

This is pure speculation on my part, but the 8 hammers could be a team being attacked by a barbarian and them not having slavery yet to whip out a warrior. Another possibility is a world wonder rush.

Here's a map of my settling plans atm. The NW needs another city in there but I couldn't really place it with all that fog there.

I like the yellow spot. Pigs + Corn + fresh water + forests + grassland. smile I think Yellow -> Blue -> Brown? Then the southern horses spot to build chariots and scout.

It looks like the south-western fog has impassible ice, so no invasion from there. But there might be a passage south-east beyond the horses.

Goals for the near future:
  • Academy in Citadel
  • Get some cottages up
  • Improve all tiles currently useable (see: pop cap)
  • Settle yellow dot
  • Build a scout (or another unit as a scout) and try to contact other teams so we aren't left out once tech trading starts
  • Connect copper, get axes
  • Tech order: Writing, Maths, Sailing, Fishing (or Sailing/Fishing before Maths), Alphabet
  • See if there is ivory anywhere nearby, if there is, secure it
Cities:
  • Citadel: Archer (current) > Settler (double whip) > Archer > Library? (if we have it) > Granary/Worker/Settler
  • Thessia: Worker (current) > Granary > Axe
  • Yellow dot city: Granary

Other teams have started founding their second cities, specifically Azza, AT and Commodore. The score increases could technically be from popping a tech from a hut, but it's more likely that each founded their second city.

Sounds good to me. South-east has impassable ice too, but can't tell if it goes all the way to block the path.

Do you want to cottage the yellow or everywhere? Any city specialization plans?

Do you think moving the palace is worth the trouble?

Cottage yellow, and a few cottages for Citadel.
I see no reason to move the capital.

AT found us and popped a scout from that hut next to our borders.
I guess that solves the mystery of impassable ice in the east shakehead
