Makes sense re: CFC - I'm about to send this:
Draft to CFC Wrote:Caledorn,
Thanks again for directions, and I'm glad we were able to finally be a help to you in return. I think it's been a big boost for both of us. Let me know how things go once you meet CivPlayers. They may be a very small team, but they still seem to be doing quite well in this game.
As a courtesy, I wanted to inform you that we will be settling our final border city in your direction pretty soon.
Thanks!

Oh, I think that your point about being more direct with CivPlayers is well taken, Lewwyn. We were probably being too patronizing in some of those drafts, it reads a bit like something I would write. I simply want to avoid the whole "declare war and start issuing demands" scenario. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense when we can easily settle another 8-10 high quality cities for free, and then have far weaker neighbors to devour elsewhere.
CFC message looks good to me.

Should we offer Civplayers OB in the game? With a little message like: "Trade connection should be established now, if you want some routes."

To those saying we should offer OB [edit: not singling out anyone specific, I just know I saw this a few times in here] - we already did, and they just flat rejected it. I don't see much point in just sending the same messsage to them as last time . Anyways, let's just do this:
Draft to CivPlayers Wrote:Decebal,
Well, our Open Borders offer stands. We now have a trade route connection to you, so if you sign OB you will immediately get foreign trade route income from us. We are willing to sign a no-scouting clause if that makes Open Borders more attractive to you.
Otherwise, it's unclear what kind of agreement you are seeking. We've made offers that you don't seem to like, how about you tell us what you want instead?
Thanks,

Short, sweet, direct, but not hostile.

Just let me know what you all think. I don't want to offer AI diplo stuff in-game unless the team is on board. I think it might be worth a shot. Worst they can do is say no.

for the latest draft. I think that is direct and with purpose. Would be willing to send that off anytime.

I like scooter's latest draft.
By the way if there's any chance we might get an OB agreement next turn we should hold off on settling the new city. Settling a new city recalculates trade routes and would activate the new ones for us.

Btw, is it true that they will get OB income from us if they sign OB now? I believe they would need sailing.

Doesn't signing OB do this too? I thought the only danger was in already having OB when you finish the trade connection.
