SCREW DIPLO. MOAR STABBY.
Seriously. I ran a lv12 once and my response to everything was MOAR STABBY. I drew my sword during a bar brawl. =p

You could double check, after you find something you like, by searching on the site I gave you. My site is the DnD wiki. So, since Pathfinder is basically 3.5e modified, stuff should carry over nicely.

Stabby is not necessarily beneficial in retaining such a position, while rudimentary attempts at diplomacy can be quite useful in securing clients.

Reminds me of a friend's campaign. They were in the midst of very delicate diplomacy between two warring factions. Whole session was supposed to be a diplo event.
Half way through, the Chaotic Neutral guy decides screw it and throws a Feather Tree Token under the table. Giant tree appears, tent is destroyed, I think the DMs ruled some of the leaders got injured by the sudden tree sprouting, they run out of the tent yelling that negotiations broke down and the other sides are assholes and betrayed everyone. DMs rapidly scramble to generate a massive war between the two factions.
And this is why you ban Feather Tree Tokens. And Chaotic Neutral assholes.

I am Gunther, a Half-Man. I come from these paradises around us into the wasteland of civilization. I am servant of the God Lathander, and I have been tasked with bring his light and his goodness to the world.
Since I was a boy, I have seen brutality. Many have gave in to it, a brave few, like brother Grouk, have stood up to it and left. My father's words were too compelling, so I listened to it. I was a brute of the wilderness, an axe for hire. But in my heart, there was always a hole.
Father killed a man. It should not been different, we've killed before. But this one was different. We had saved a village from bandits, and collected our dues. But as we left, my father was not with us. I went back to look with him, and found him looting a house, an old man with an ax in his skull. I yelled out at my father, and he tried to justify himself. Saying that we needed the money, that times were getting tough.
I threw off my axe and never returned to him.
I wandered through the wilds, the mountains and cities. The beasts of the cold and dark fought my body, and the beasts of drink and racism fought my soul. I found myself broken at the temple of Lathander, desperate to find healing. And that he gave.
He took my past and said it could be atoned for. He took my skills with an axe and said to use it to defend the good and innocent. He took my drink and said to use it to fuel my fury for justice. He took my desire for freedom and said to share it with others.
So now, here I am. I fight for good, with words and steel and spirit. I have come to this mercenary guild to find jobs to find people in need to assist, and gold to give out to those who need it more than I do. I gleefully welcome others to adventure with me, to share in tales and glory. Between the grace of my god and the depth of my wagon, I shall always be prepared to assist however I can; all I ask is that you will do the same for me.

To not overlap too much with the fighter or the archer I shifted my character over to a rogue & gave her things she'd've learnt by being a merchant brat. And things our thieving translating elvish friend doesn't like So she's ended up more talky & less stabby than my original concept, but she's still fairly stabby
Language wise - I've now put down Common, Dwarven, Chondathan (which is the language in Sembia, I think) & Damaran. I'm not sure if I have another slot or not (do I get Chondathan for free along with Common coz I grew up there?) - but if I do, do we have a preference as a group? I just spent a little while looking round the forgotten realms wiki and nothing jumped out as fitting my backstory any better than anything else.

Hey, Mardoc, some questions:
As an human fighter with a +1 intelligence modifier (12 intelligence), I get 12 skill points at lvl 3, right?
(2 from fighter + 1 from intelligence) . 3 = 9 + 3 from the human skilled ability (I'm not considering the Focus Class level up bonus, since I'm unsure if I want skill points or HP).
But I'm thinking of substituting the skilled human trait for another one:
"Heart of the Fields - Humans born in rural areas are used to hard labor. They gain a racial bonus equal to half their character level to any one Craft or Profession skill, and once per day they may ignore an effect that would cause them to become fatigued or exhausted. This racial trait replaces skilled".
I think I don't need much skills as a fighter and this trait seems to fit with my backstory. Is this useful, though? I'm a bit lost with the Craft and Profession skills. I thought about having the craft to make arrows and profession skills of farmer and soldier, but I'm unsure about how it all works and what it is used for.
Do you allow this choice? Do you think it's useful enough (I ask because I really have no idea)?

Ichabod ... think you missed the OR in the Alternate trait ... its either 1(!) craft skill OR 1(!) profession skill
So you can pick Craft: fetching or Profession: Farmer ... while the craft you suggested yourself are somewhat reasonable and not entirely useless, the latter is useless from a mechanic point of you.
