Commodore is welcome to try.

I just worry that we were burned by misjudging him before.
I agree that we should be able to hold it off pre-galleons, but we need to be vigilant. Sentries or even a garrison on that plains hill island would give us warning if he would try. But all that is post India (February 14th, 2013, 12:01)pindicator Wrote: I just worry that we were burned by misjudging him before. Eh, I don't know if I agree with this. We always knew it was a possibility he would play it that way, but we figured betting that he would play that way was playing not to lose. So we risked it. This isn't really a risk, it's common sense for him to leave us alone for 100T or so.
FYI, I jumped in game earlier to offer Commodore the 2g for 2g trade. No idea if the little countdown will work, but might as well.

That's why I figured I'd pop in and sent it so they'd get the 2nd one when they login to play this turn. We're now 8 hours into the turn without a single login from India, so I'm guessing this means they won't end turn before the night is over. I hope this isn't the case, as I'd like to be able to go through the turn tonight.
Well according to civstats we won't have that last impi
Wait, i didn't ever see the game but how did he take the city on the first turn of war? We had hills in front Edit: It was that 4-move galley, wasn't it? It was common sense for him before too, what's the difference? I'm not sure I would leave us alone for 100 turns.

I've got to agree with Noble on this. This is Commodore; it makes much more sense to me that he sees our invasion of India as a red carpet.
Okay, I jumped in game and Commodore had offered us straight up peace. This despite having 5 workers within sight of his troops. So I'm much more inclined to think he's going to leave us be. I took the peace, of course.
And I was right on the galley. He had a pair of axes on board and we got some of our luck back from him: the first axe had 70% odds of winning but our impi won that battle; the second axe mopped up. With 10 turns to evacuate there is less of a pressing need, but still a need. Our catapult can pillage the copper mine for some money; i'm tempted to do it, but it may make more sense not to from a diplomatic point of view. IHOP is currently our capital - so it looks like cities that are in revolt are put to the bottom of the list. Maybe it's a good thing that India is about to capture IHOP |
