Hey guys - what do you think of me admitting to them that we're building Hanging Gardens and we're not contesting Pyramids? If we're sure they have 0 Aqueducts, this should be safe. I can make him swear to keep it confidential beforehand. That may alleviate their concerns. Do you see a downside here? (won't do it unless I get some confirms)

you might as well tell him that we have no interest in the pyramids, and he has no chance at the other stone wonders.
of course we can't guarantee another civ won't land the pyramids :/
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
Don't forget that we're also using the stone for Moai...

Of course, but delaying Moai by 1-2T is a lot less painful than missing out on a powerful wonder. I can handle losing a half dozen hammers from a 1T-late Moai to prevent them from settling that spot.
Well it's going to be more than that. We won't have the other stone hooked up on t107 without help.

They have no aqueducts (I checked again this turn) so they are very likely going for Pyramids. It's possible that they could be going for Great Wall, if they want to do something with espionage...
I would be fine with telling them that we want stone for Hanging Gardens purposes, since they are obviously not contesting it. We can also swear that we are not contesting Pyramids, that's an easy (and true) promise. Fine with both of those. I wouldn't say more than that, however. Moai is a non-issue because we'll be able to connect the second stone resource and use it for Moai within a few turns.
yeah, guaranteeing HG is worth strong-arming/delaying stone gift. Maoi certainly is not, we can delay that if needed. (hell we can build something else there and start it again when we connect 2nd stone). I'm not even sure its not worth risking losing the great wall to prevent the aggressive plant.

Absolutely, concede them pyramids if it'll mean they won't salient 3 of our cities.
The confusing thing is that they didn't even need to move that settler onto that tile this turn. They could have left it on the road 63 of where it currently is, and then settled next turn. Methinks they wanted to make some kind of political statement. |
