I think its very unlikely they'd settle so recklessly for the sake of tGW.

Well, there is a lot about their play what we don't currently understand... But anyways, that site has also other potential benefits for CFC. That would be an aggressive city that forks two of our cities and especially if they get enough culture there it could be indeed dangerous.

eh, you are talking about delaying stone on the off chance that they deforest a city just to complete TGW on the same turn as us and win a coinflip. Not worth delaying it for that. I'm not even positive it would be worth it if we KNEW this would happen - the fail gold is almost worth more than the wonder. TGW is crap, frankly.

Sulla is winning me over - yall are getting too cutthroat here. the NAP is worth more than the Great Wall to us anyway, and the chance that we lose it by turning over stone one turn early are miniscule, anyway. relax - we should give it up as soon as HG's are complete.

Surely the worst case TGW scenario is that we lose it on a coinflip to them because we gave them stone and they used a ton of chops on it.

Given we get plenty of failgold and IMO CFC would have wasted a ton of chops on a mediocre wonder instead of infrastructure or military, I don't see why anyone even cares if we lose it to them.

I still disagree. I think gifting stone T106 is generous enough that we don't even have to take that small risk. That can simply be avoided. And yeah, I care about our neighbor getting great spy points and extra GG points when we hopefully/possiby invade them at some point.

Of course we are. But we've been over the reasons for why we need to suck it up and do this anyways. This NAP is WAY WAY WAY more valuable to us than it is to CFC. It just is.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a bad idea. But I think we need to emphasize just how generous we are being, something that Seven and others have mentioned.

And I agree with Fintourist that it's not really great to give them stone before we finish our wonders, opening them to competition. Great Wall is a very cheap wonder.

We interrupt this hard issue with some important news: we now have a trade route going with the Spanish.

I think we should ask for OB at once, preferably with something like "Hey, we have spiced wine here! Lets party!"
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

Just received from CFC:

CFC Wrote:Hi Scooter,

Letting you know that the team is on board with the last arrangement we talked about.

So as soon as you confirm, we have NAP to t175, and you guys are gifting us a Spice from this turn for the whole NAP duration, as well as Stone on t105-106 (hopefully t105) for the whole NAP, you guys promise not to build Mids, we promise not to build HG.

Caledorn

Sounds like we're OK. I haven't gotten to chat to him today. I'm going to try to catch him and see if we can get a few more provisions added:

1) Quadruple check they are not settling that location
2) Add provisions for A) No harmful spy missions and B) no culture bombing on our border

Anything else?

Well the deal as it stands is acceptable, I think, but not great. Things to aim for are
- NAP to t200
- Promise that they settle SE of the rice
- We could ask for a no-compete on TGW but that's probably counterproductive.

Use stone gifted on T105 as the carrot, I suppose.
I have to run.
