I really like Atlantis too.
Alright, bad news guys. Azza canceled the gold gift to us. This puts Sid's and Culver's into unhappiness, and Culver's is now starving. Yay. I frantically offered this: Amazingly they have no crabs, though I'll be sort of surprised if they actualy NEED any health. THrew in our map to try to help. Commodore set up a sentry or something: I'm assuming so anyways, surely he's not about to SETTLE that spot.
Strategically it's a very important spot. For someone with as many cities as he has i would consider burning a settler there.
My dotmap proposal:
We could also move the Iron City 1E and Sheep City 1S. That gets better overlap for the Iron City but we trade a grassland for a desert hill. We pick up a plains that would otherwise be unused though. I just looked at the Espionage graph and realized that we may be the first people in MP history to have espionage not increase on a non-anarchy turn...because our capital was in revolt.

I also offered Crab for Clam to both Azza and Serdoa, both of which lack Crab (we have three). If either of them accept then Culvers will not starve (it's actually both unhealthy and unhappy). They've both already played their turn though...

That kind of undercuts the crab for gold proposal to azza
Yeah I just talked to scooter about it. Sorry. I thought he already rejected it. He'll get the offers in order though.

New turn, and for the first time in about 2 months it's peaceful and easy . I started out by settling Dominos!
Funny thing here. Losing the gold cost us 2 citizens working, so that hurt our Currency time by a turn. Then settling this city instantly made it back . Instant $6 in trade routes does wonders: (Sorry, chat window jumped in the way.) This city is pure profit. Yes it may have slightly bumped up total cities maintenance, but we're well over the free unit barrier too, so this offset that. Just wait til Currency. That'll be worth about 2.5 commerce/city minimum . Xenu is still sniffing around: We can easily handle any 2 units that drop off, but if he brings a bunch more it'll get messy. We're still pretty shot-up from that bloody conquest of CC. Just need to hope he's not a jerk. Also, let me remind you. City count time! Xenu: 7 cities Scoopin: 6 cities FEAR US . Never mind the fact that his cities look like this: I like going by straight city count better than this, so that's what we're going to do so that we feel better . He's got some nice settling prospects if he would just go to that northeast island instead, but unfortunately he's not settled an eastern port city: Oh well. Hopefully he messes with that island instead of us. I spent some time just looking over the foreign maps. We've had Brick's maps for awhile now for instance, but this is the first I've actually looked at them. I was always so glued to our front each time I was in, that I haven't even looked around. Kudos to Krill for choosing this map, this really IS a super, super interesting map. NH put in signs for his suggested dotmap, which is about 90% identical to Pindicator's suggestions (they're marked by the NH signs). Either way it does a nice job of making the most of this land IMO. Here's the central section: Pindicator had the pig site 1E. I'm good with either placement there. Here's the south: A thought on the central spot here. Why not move it 1N? I believe 1N is NOT considered to be riverside, but the spot you have marked is riverside. Would be nice to spare a riverside grassland if possible. On tech path - I obviously think we need to finish Currency first, and I think we all agree on that. How about Monarchy next instead of MC or IW? A little risky maybe, but what do we have to lose exactly? The thing is, we're a little happy-strapped. Monarchy gives us wine happy instantly (2/3 are already improved), HR, and it gives us a valuable resource trading chip in the duplicate wines that we have. Thoughts?
1N is riverside too. Monarchy might be good.
