Worked through the pop, power, and land changes since the turn start with Sullla's demos.

Rival claimed land decreased with 2 tiles, since Tree Huggers took two tiles from Wasserburg.

CFC has settled a city, and they also captured a size 5 barb city, now knocked down to size 4. They claimed 9 tiles total between the two cities, probably eight with the normal settling and one with the capture (until it gets out of resistance and claims its first-ring borders).

You can verify the CFC calculations by checking their city list in-game...

Check their city list and you'll know whether they founded a new city and captured another barb city. We can see their number of cities in the list.

Yeah, they've gotten two new cities alright this turn - visible via APTmod, too. But was there anything else to it in the city list?

Does the order of the names only indicate settling date, or population? Can that tell you anything?

Cities are placed in the order that they are acquired, unless a city is lost, in which case the next acquired city will take its place.

Hey kjn. I didn't quite understand your comment above on the pop script. I can investigate, but let me know what you ran and with what parameters. I looked and found I have two scripts: diff_change.py and making_change.py . Running making change for rival worst and 6 cities I got that:

Quote: python ./making_change.py 427 6
[(8, 337), (3, 21), (3, 21), (3, 21), (3, 21), (2, 6)]
[(6, 150), (5, 90), (5, 90), (5, 90), (2, 6), (1, 1)]
[(6, 150), (5, 90), (5, 90), (4, 48), (4, 48), (1, 1)]

One of the solutions is the one you mentioned. Not sure if that's what you ran though.

I'm thinking about the series of whips that CivPlayers has been doing. Power increase values for buildings:

Barracks = 3k
Stables = 2k

If they are completing buildings, we would see a power increase. If they are not completing them, we would not see the power increase. That is my understanding of how this works. So, it is possible that they are whipping buildings to completion, as well as units, but then immediately switching to something else in the build queue so that power does not jump at all. When they are finally ready to show their rising power, they will first let buildings complete, so 2t for barracks/stable at most, swap to Theocracy, then start completing pre-whipped units. Am I missing anything?

We have seen them complete a barracks in Tlaxcala. Anything else? Nothing is noted in the C&D spreadsheet for Xochicalco.

Alternatively, kjn mentioned 60h builds. Can we detect through APT mod culture increases? If we see a series of 2cpt improvements, then we have a bunch of libraries completing and I'm just paranoid. shifty

Nope, I don't have that one. I have diff_change.py and pop_changes.py - the former is what I use most often (though I mainly use it for whips and CivFr right now). I probably never fetched making_change.py.
