My bad, I read that when it was posted then forgot
![]() I'm not interested because I've done a million team games before I made this account. When you get down to it this is no different to playing a 4 player FFA except you have to reconcile the tech path at the start of the game and hope like hell the map maker didn't do really dumb starting locations for each player. It's enjoyable to play when you haven't experienced the game type before though. Picks can be PMed to a non-player volunteer who reveals all the picks once all teams have submitted. In this case how will that not result in four pairs of India/Inca? Or, three and then RMOG 2.0 slotting in Gandhi/France, I guess.

I'll sign up as willing to dedlurk/sub for a team. I could team up with you, Thoth. But I'd really need a very commited team-mate, since I tend to lose focus in games from time to time. My best game so far was PBEM 38, where Mist was able to keep me commited for most of the time (I ended up losing it near the end, but that was due to things that aren't likely to happen again). I won't abandon a game, either, to be clear with the other players. Of course, maybe I'd be out of my league in a game like this. In that case I can just ded-lurk a team, play as a sub. Got to agree with Commodore here, the system worked in PB6 because RB hadn't played Medieval before but there have been enough standard games played so that we know India/Inca are top 2 civs by far (and probably Pacal/Willem are top 2 leaders). Maybe a ban on those clear favorites, then a snakepick of some sort? (although that doesn't really work with 4 choices to pick from...)
Commodore it strikes me that maybe we should team up.
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
Snake pick works, just treat each of the team independent.
