I agree novice, and those are the next two spots to be settled. The location west of The Covenant is already planned out with a settling date of T111, and it should be fairly easy to get a settler to the location between ivory and Tree Huggers shortly thereafter.
We should be able to land about 20 cities before we go on the attack.

With the new NAP thru t130+10, I'll vote for Zeus in Brick By Brick. I think the benefit of the wonder really is culture, and the more border control we can get in that area, the better. Also, while CivPlayers agreed not to settle the lake, we still want to close off that option with our culture.
Eastern Dealers also makes sense for a culture boost, but we have other ways to do that over there. Zeus is the fire-and-forget weapon for culture in the western region.

Speaking of the Great Wall...assuming we get it, it will finish before the barb axe has a chance to move, no? So he won't be able to attack our stack on the forest.

Huh, good point.
Also, another thought. SoZ could also go in Starfall.
1) SoZ in EGD threatens their rice. SoZ in SF threatens their desert hill. The latter is more valuable from a military standpoint.
2) SoZ in EGD is 3rd ring borders vs 1st ring borders. SoZ in SF is 2nd ring borders vs 1st ring borders. We stand a better chance of even grabbing any tiles.
Of course, from a diplomacy standpoint, it might be better to build it in EGD, as we can justify it going into our GP farm. Crushing the rice is provocative in that it ruins the value of that city. Crushing the hill is provocative in that it's more likely to actually take a tile and it's harder to justify why we're doing so.
Still, now that we have the NAP locked down with CPers and 35 turns to fortify our western border, SoZ in BbB is probably best. But the suggestion for Starfall is still in place if someone wants to use it!

Stone demand from CFC waiting in-game apparently.
This came from apt-mod:
Quote:Proposed exchange by CFC, offered to
The propose is:
Offer:
Demands:
Piedra
I thought we give it to them on T106 not this turn?

That's my understanding of the agreement and certainly theirs as well. To get it this turn they needed to plant their border city less stupidly, one tile east. I'm guessing they figure we don't need it now for this turn since we just finished HG. Sorry, pals. Should have moved the city if you need it this turn.

Logged into the game and rejected their offer. I found it very satisfying to type this:
Hey CFC, remember when we offered stone this turn in exchange for your team not settling an idiotic, needlessly aggressive city? Remember that? Because we do. You're not getting squat until next turn.
I know we have the long NAP (which was totally worth signing) and all, but CFC still kind of rubs me the wrong way. Allies of convenience for now... and we'll see after T175.

I think it is worth sending an email with the above text too. The civ4 diplo screen is sometimes a little temperamental with the text it sends and the text it doesn't send.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

The deal was pretty clear, so if they want it a turn earlier they can ask and we can say no . I don't think there's any reason to let them know. I think it's pretty likely they saw HG fall and figured we're done with it so it was worth a shot to ask. Gonna be pretty funny if after all that they wanted the Great Wall instead of Pyramids .
