Intersite Game - Turn Discussion Thread

Last paragraph is rougly

Do you want to join the party? CFC is a very large empire and ready to divide. We do not want the war to go very long and we intend to take all the cities that interest us as soon as possible so we can continue to improve our own cities. If you are helping us you can get all the cities you can conquer and you'll make the job easier for both of us

Losing Mausoleum 2t before our completion date is a harsh blow. I'm not sure that I've ever seen Mausoleum fall before Pyramids and Great Wall before, but kudos to CivFr for pulling off the build. This is one case where not having contact with their team really hurt us; every single team that we could see did not have Calendar researched, and we had no reason to change our eot 107 Mausoleum plans. This means we will not be able to pull off the double civic revolt Caste System/Pacifism Golden Age strategy that we had discussed before. We'll have to do some further long term thinking there.

Losing a worker in this fashion - border expands on the same turn that Great Wall completes and then pushes a barb axe randomly next to a worker - is just a kick in the nuts. rolleye That's seriously about the dumbest thing I've ever seen in this game. Now I'm kicking myself for spending hours over the weekend fine tuning our upcoming micro plan, only to see it blown up by the events of this turn. Ah well, should be able to salvage most of it...

I have no idea what to make of Spanish Apolyton going to war with CFC. Probably good news for us, right? I would not pass on word to them that the hammer is about to come down.

I don't believe we should kick ourselves for losing the MoM. We had various plans that could get us it sooner, but only by a turn or two. The difference was probably that CivFr managed to find marble, and we didn't.

Agree on not telling CFC about the Spanish plans.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

I think that we should double check our deal with CFC, but by all means we shouldn't say anything unless required. I would say that the Spanish and CFC going to war is a good thing for us. How would it be if CP attacks CivFr next smile

Hey man the message was in Spanish. Apparently regoarrarr's Spanish wasn't as good as advertised and we thought they were having a dinner party with CFC. wink

Bummer about losing MoM so closely. Out of the trio of wonders we had planned, MoM is certainly the strongest. Nicely done by CivFr to land such an important wonder.

I think Hanging Gardens is stronger *right now*, I'd rather have that one. We just have to make sure we get Taj Mahal now. :-)

One silver lining, not sweeping the classical wonders makes us less of a dogpile target. Dogpiles are even less likely to succeed if there's a clear #2 power who will benefit most.

Very valid point, as it is we're probably to clearly #1 ... if there were a way to artificially dump our score (without noticeable longterm efficiency) it would have been great
