Diplomacy Master Thread- Helping Your Opponents Beat Themselves

Otherwise, they might think we are doing this to oppose them. Especially the stone, since it helps with walls, could be seen as some sort of antagonistic movement (maybe they'll even think we warned CFC).

Agreed, we should tell them this.

Why tell them? We don't have to, and even a few turns warning would allow them to whip walls and units and defend a lot more effectively. It's not like CFC did us any huge favors... First they announced they were going to make a city by the oasis as a fait accompli, then they were very annoying threatening that awful city. I don't think we should tell them anything.

EDIT: N/M misread what Noble meant.

Maybe also tell the Spanish that CFC are going for the pyramids with that stone. Might be useful information...
If you know what I mean.

Trust me kalin, I will never be a proponent of helping CFC. wink

Didn't we agree to keep quiet about them building mids? I don't want to help cfc either but I also don't want to break our agreements with them.

I don't know, I think the opportunity here is to either weaken or strengthen an ally.
I know pre-game the relations were pretty grim between CFC and RB. But am I mistaken or have they been nothing but good allies so far, except the city placement that I'd just write off as noobish.
Maybe some are a little prejudice.
I read the pre game thread so I know I'm treading on ice here ^^

CFC will easily defeat Spanish Apolyton in the long run. The only question is how much damage the crazy Spaniards will do before bowing out.

We've made absolutely no promise to warn CFC of incoming attacks. As far as I'm concerned, we don't speak Spanish and the attack against our neighbors caught our team completely by surprise. smile

Wheel spin detected wink. Suggested draft to Spanish team:

Draft to Spanish Apolyton Wrote:Thanks for the explanation! Unfortunately we are bound to a NAP agreement with CFC, so we cannot declare war on them. Otherwise it might be fun! Don't worry - we will not tell them of your plans. smile

Good luck!

An accompanying Spanish translation would probably be good too.

Short and sweet. I don't see the need to go into great detail, especially not with the language barrier being a real issue.

No mention of our stone and spices gift? I really think we should include it.
