Looks like we can get gunpowder EOT134 (after getting liberalism EOT131), with some fairly extensive wealth building on T132-T134. That would let us revolt into nationalism on T134 and only waste one round of drafting. (Unless we want to draft a round of axes...)

With this in mind, running some wealth on earlier turns is definitely an option to consider. Perhaps Bitter should be doing that instead of building a settler. Or we could put Ramune on wealth and let Bitter continue with missionaries.

It's probably better to put some cities on wealth right away and let others work on their forges, than having to halt all of the forges five turns down the road. Also, it's better to build wealth now, while we're in pacifism, and forges later, while we're in OR.

Of course, if we can get a NAP extension with Gillette, then we won't have to run wealth at all.

Drafting axes sounds like the formula for victory to me. wink

I guess breaking our backs to get gunpowder one turn earlier doesn't make all that much sense, so we could give it one more turn, even if it would irk me to be in nationalism for two turns without drafting. If war is brewing, converting hammers to gold at 1:1 ratios shouldn't be our top priority. We could also do the earlier civics swap, and adopt nationalism on T137, the first turn of our second GA. The trade-off here is that we leave caste system and pacifism before the 700 and 800 GPs pop, delaying those. So either "waste" two turns in nationalism, missing out on the bureaucracy bonus, or delay our GPs a little.

There is a possible GP plan in blue at the top here now, where we revolt on T132.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?...SFE#gid=19

It gets the 600 GP from WIFOM EOT130, the 700 GP from OTR EOT132, and the 800 GP from HN EOT137.

There is also a pink GP plan below it. It gets the GP from WIFOM EOT130, from HN EOT134, and from OTR EOT138. The idea behind this one is that the GP from OTR should be very likely to be a scientist, and well timed for a PP bulb. HN also makes more progress on its next GP (@ 900). The pink plan also revolts on T132, letting us adopt nationalism on T137. I think either the pink or the blue plan would be ok.

I like blue plan. T137 should be ok since we should only be facing Gillette then and could focus our drafts there 1st and then later ones towards TEAM border. Could we somehow avoid starving OTR and not delay GP too much?

Yeah, we can avoid starving it from 11->10 and instead pop the GP two turns later (EOT134). I updated the blue plan to do that, although I'm not sure which option is technically better. Perhaps that pop point is worth sacrificing if we end up settling the GP. (Probably not?)

It isn't, since we need half a food box worth of food to reclaim that lost pop.
I have to run.

I think we need every little bit of short term advantage we can get and bulbing PP is nice immediate boost to our economy.

That, and we'd be one size smaller ever after.

Yeah, I'm all for doing that. But if we pop a scientist from WIFOM next, I'd be inclined to settle him and gamble on another scientist from either OTR or HN.

This is ok. It would be very bad luck not to get Scientist either from OTR or HN.
