Other things and stuff. First off, let's hope this is Caste and not Guilds:
Got the farm for TGIF:
Definitely think we should not be whipping this Lighthouse given our lack of strong food surplus here. I'm kinda thinking we should farm that grassland 1W of the farm once CS comes in since we're going to want to keep that clams at Dominos due to Moai. Also, our favoritest city:
It's so pretty. That shrine is HOT. Score graph shows our steady rise through the ranks:
Culture graph shows nothing worthwhile, but it makes me laugh which is good enough for me:
CULTURE! WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Popped in and did most of the turn, but I have not ended. Couple things we should talk about.
I'm in favor of pushing the settler out of here now to line up with the incoming galley from iceball land down south. Opposed to this at all? Goal would be the island east of Five Guys which we can now reach culturally. We could then use that galley to go initiate contact with Slowcheetah. Also, what to build next in Starbucks:
I'm wondering how valuable a forge actually is here given the dearth of hammers. So part of me is inclined to just go for the Library here first. However, we ARE sending a missionary here shortly, so perhaps we should reverse course and go for the Forge first. I just figure the Library is more immediately beneficial, both for the science bonus (getting decent commerce here with coast + routes) and for the ability to run a few specialists with the massive food surplus here. Thoughts? Here's our north right now:
Taco Bell in particular is working absolute garbage tiles which is being remedied right now. Since we aren't ready to watermill, I'm farming that riverside plains at the moment. I don't see much purpose in cottaging it and then paving over it right when it matures into a good tile, and we don't really care about commerce at this city anyways. So we might as well grow on a farm or two and then pave over once we have Machinery. Forge obviously should be whipped as soon as possible, and I believe that will be next turn when the OR bonus comes into play (assuming the spread doesn't fail). In foreign news, stumbled onto a little scuffle it seems:
Poor Merohoc, getting Trireme'd right now it seems. I did a quick count-up of the city counts which look like this:
Quote:Commodore: 19
Slowcheetah: ?
Serdoa: 14
Plako: 17
Lewger: 12
scoopin: 12
Azza: 12
Brick/Yuri: 11
Xenu: 7
Merohoc: 7
Lewwyn's team really ought to be doing better IMO. They had a very strong early position, but they've failed to go anywhere with it. Not sure what's going on for them.

I think we want Forge and OR before starting the library at Starbucks. I don't think it can finish the library timely without that +50% bonus to production (and whips). It would probably be a 3-pop whip otherwise for the library- with forge and OR a two-pop whip is worth 75h.
Agree with Boston Market doing our settler. We need some place to build an archer for defense though.
Be sure to whip the forge at Culvers if you haven't already

That tile can't be watermilled.
Whether you want to build a library or forge first depends on how soon you can build the library after building the forge. Look at this scenario:
Library before forge. Library gets completed on turn 10. Forge gets completed at some point later, not relevant as long as the forge is the thing you're building after the library.
Forge before library. Forge gets completed on turn 15. Library gets completed on turn 20.
In this case you would lose 10 turns of having the library in exchange for the forge discount on the library. So you compare those 10 turns of beakers (if ignoring the ability to run scientists) to the hammers saved.

I went ahead and swapped to Forge, as I think we care more about the hammers saved than the beakers saved. Also ended turn. I did whip Culvers earlier too, so we're all set on that front.

I'm trying to decide if I love Commodore or hate him for this:
We were 1 turn awway. But that means 139 fail gold, coming up. It's enough that we can turn CS to 100% this turn.

Failgold isn't a problem - barbs don't matter.

I like to think that we have loyal citizens back home waiting for the day where we return and liberate our lands from those vile Khmer oppressors.
Keep the faith!

Yeah, the Wall was only for the GSpy points in our future National Epic city. But if we were going to lose it, we lost it at the best moment for fail gold, so I really can't say I'm too disappointed. Although a future Great Spy would have been good for catching up in tech
