[SPOILERS] scooter, pindicator, and Huayna Capac try some fast Zulu cuisine

Will the AI even do that? I'm pretty sure they assign workers to do one thing to a tile at a time.

(Even if it means paving over towns for farms!)

Scooter and I are totally on the same page tongue

lol Yeah we've been a liiiiittle out of sync here over the last week. My bad. Ok, so why workshop on the grassland? I figured our priority right now is getting some decent growth going out of this city for now and then workshopping over the grassland when we're at a more respectable size.

We're last to play. Plenty of time left, but I can wrap up the turn in about 2 hours or so.

I was worried about getting some production down and the sheep should be coming online soon. But I like the idea of growing and then workshopping over everything, so let's go with the farm and then it'll be twice as quick to finish the workshop when we swap over tongue

Ok, so we're really strapped for health at Culvers, so earlier in the turn I made an offer to Plako of our wines for two of his health sources, including one that is his only source. I logged in just now, and he apparently closed the window and then re-offered it:

Awesome! The wheat in particular is a nice deal as it's a straight 2 health. Plako is also further laying waste to Arabia as expected:

I then popped over and offered a map trade with Plako as well, just to see the results of it all. No idea if he'll accept. Anyways, happy Civil Service day!

That's going to be a nice boost for Culvers. Check out Serdoa's production capital:

Kinda hoping he turns that into a huge stack of Knights and goes and kills somebody. The more chaos in this game the better, so long as we aren't the recipient of said chaos. Which is actually pretty likely so maybe I'm just wishing for all the wrong things right now. But hey, being alive right now feels like we're just playing with house money, which is always cool right? Right. Anyways, in non-ramble-y news:

Yeah this neighbor is going to be a problem. Offered a map swap:

Also... TEN FISH?!?!

*referee whistle*

Time out. Let's chat. And by chat I mean rant petulantly.

Are you even serious right now Big and Small? I'm almost positive when I was playing Settlers of Australia in PB5 there were like 3 whole fish in the freaking eastern hemisphere and now Mr Contradictory Nonsensical Username over there gets 10 already to go with a rich island empire filled with rivers, floodplains, awesome luxuries, and killer sushi franchises?! And there's still several more fish he's about to hook up! Yes, I'm still bitter. I blame Krill because I believe that's still the hip and culturally acceptable thing to do around here.

Anyways, about Culvers.

I'm thinking let's not whip it now that we have Bureau in place, and we aren't going to run into any happy/health issues. I spread Hindu into Starbucks, so we can now double-whip the forge and I think we should do so.

May as well. That's about all I did on the new turn (we were last to play so I revolted, rolled turn, and did a few things).

Bets on which happens first?

1) We tech calendar and plantation the bananas
2) The cottage on the banana grows to a village

And if 2) then would you pave over said banana-village?

Was thinking about this today. It'll be a village pretty soon. Given the food surplus that's there already, I'm not DYING to get a plantation onto it since that requires diverting to Calendar right away. I guess it's not hard to do the math here, right? Ignoring the health value, the plantation sacrifices some commerce to get a few extra food. Presumably we use that food to support an extra population which means another coast or, more likely down the line, an extra specialists. Is that eventual, theoretical specialist better than a banana village? Probably?

Culvers can be +13 surplus if we work maximum food. smile

I haven't done the math on this but I'm reminded of something that Seven said somewhere about the higher value of income gold now than down the road. I think it was in relation to working a coast or some other moderate coin tile instead of investing in a brand new cottage. Don't quote me on that, but I think that even if the specialist would result in more commerce eventually, is it worth losing the more commerce now?
