Yeah I think it's safe to say the trade window chat is somehow bugged.

Hmm, is the problem only when we add text, or with the window itself (I.e. trade offers are also failing)?

If the former I think we should either abandon it or do emails instead.

I think the problem is if you type, but don't actually add it to the log. you have to type something, then hit ok, then make the offer. if you just type something, but don't actually add it to the log, it doesn't work.

Yeah we had that problem in pbem13. First of all, you have to hit enter after typing something so that it's added to the log, as you say. But also, I think I experienced an issue in pbem13 where the enter key wouldn't take, I think maybe it was related to having NUM LOCK activated. I don't know if we ever figured it fully out, we started using the in-game chat function instead.
